Ok me and my girlfriend of ~16 months broke up about 4 weeks ago. Before the break up I told her about a job opening at my work, but now that we're not together I didn't expect her to go through with it. Thought wrong!

This whole month I've been trying hard to get over her. She was my first love, and I totally fell head over heals for her, which was what did us in. I was crazy in love with her and let her treat me like shit, so it was a good thing we broke up. But now this...

I worked with her for the first time today. We talked a little bit. At first we where smiling and laughing just because we didn't know what to do, but as the day past I just became more and more depressed. I don't know if I want her back or not, and I have no idea why she would want to work with me. I think either she is in no way missing me at all and the sight of me brings up no feelings, or she wants to get closer to me so we can see if we can start fresh.

I think I may still be in denial that our relationship is over. All I want to do is get over her and start a new life. How the fuck am I suppost to do that now? Tell me what to do people! Should I be nice to her and see if we can work together, or should I treat her like shit so she quits? Should I bring a gun to work and take everyone down with me in a blaze of bullets?

EDIT: I now know why she started working there...she's fucking my supervisor.

Be friendly, otherwise you'll screw yourself over as well as her in a tidal wave of misery, rivalry and bitchiness galore.

Just try not to be too clingy/attached/visibly depressed when around her. Treat her like a friend, and nothing more.

And don't let on that you've been missing/thinking of her, otherwise she'll have some unspoken control over you.

Basically: a friendly sort of indifference.

Try to flirt with other female associates if you can, too. Not just when she's around, because then she'll know what you're up to, but as often as you can. That way, word will get around that you're a nice/attractive guy and it'll be off the tongues of different WOMEN.

That always gets a girl jealous and possessive.

Where we work is a dorm room cafateria on a university campus. Class just started and I know a fairly cute girl who needed someone to keep her company cause she didn't know any body yet. It just so happens she sits next to where my ex is working (she the hostess) so we chat for a while, long enough to make sure she notices, lol. I leave the table to make the first encounter between us. The first thing she says to me is "so you getting your mack on over there?" with a big grin on. "no, I was just trying to make you jealous, did it work?" Short answer...no. Anyone got a gun I can borrow?

And tell her what, not to work here? She wouldn't quit because I asked her to and it would only create tension. I like the idea of just being friendly indifferent, but that's hard to do. First I need to forget her, but I can't when I see her all the time. It's an endless cycle!

Come on man, just realize that you're better than her and she's nothing to you anymore. Stop making excuses and don't think about her so much.
