Is this possible? If so how do I go about it? I want my download speeds faster. Do not reccomend sattelite internet, it is much too expensive. Nothing else is avaliable in my area but dial up, is there any way to make it faster?

Would this really work? Wouldn't it have the same problems as sattelite internet like losing signal in bad weather? Do they sell antennas like this? I'm a WiFi n00b, I just want to play my ps3 online.

But yeah, satellite internet is shit, and I know what it's like to live on dial up. If I were you I would experiment with picking up long range wifi signals. I don't know how well a satellite dish would work, but you could try it. I experimented with cantennas for a bit, and I was briefly able to steal internet from my next door neighbors... meh. I need to perfect the cantenna design.

But yeah, good luck to you. Sucks that you can't get high speed unless its satellite. Post results if you manage to hijack anyone's wifi signal!

Well i dont think a cantenna would work because no one around here has high speed for 3 miles, and then the people about 3 miles up dont really seem like the kind of people that have wifi, but hey the just might. I think i'm going to go with the sattelite. I will post results if and when it is built and tested.

I was also on dial-up until recently. Now I use ev-do for my home internet connection. You should look into it, although it may be the same or more expensive than satellite.
