Can this bong be smoked again?
Firstly, I bought a magic water pipe bong from a headshop near my house. Me and my friends had been smoking this bong non stop for at least 5 weeks.
It was pretty grimey and disgusting, so I decided to clean it. I researched online and didnt have any of the required items... so I did a homemade bong cleaning solution. I shortly realized after making a mix of bathroom cleaner and spray bleach that this may be hazardous to my health. Well I did, it didnt work but i scrubbed it out with a tool i made from sticking tissues on the end of a long screwdriver.
Since then I've rinsed the bong out at least 25 times with both ice cold water and boiling hot.. The bong still feintly smells of the solution. What should I do BLTC?

Re: Can this bong be smoked again?
pour a whole bottle of alcohol in there then let it sit for a day. Pour it out, rinse it with water then smoke
Also, alcohol is how I clean the grime out of my bong.

Re: Can this bong be smoked again?
Just rinse it several times with plenty of fresh water, it will be fine. Provided it is glass of course.

I have't been around here too much. I was all over Western Europe in June/July and haven't been too involved in Totse since I have been back.
...I have been trying to get on more lately.

I can't say I blame ya. Tons of garbage since regs opened. Some decent users here and there though, new folks that is. Not all of them are retarded.
So how are you doing physically? I remember before you were fighting a pretty hardcore addiction, has that tapered off? Are you feeling normal again?

You, must be thinking of someone else.... I had a few problems here and there, but nothing too bad.

Re: Can this bong be smoked again?
Boiling water+ washing up liquid= Clean bong.
Though me and my brother were smoking out of my bong when it was just cleaned like that and the smoke got trapped in the bubbles. I smoked it anyways.

You probably had him confused with me...and yeah I was pretty damn addicted, but been clean, more or less, since I got arrested back in February (the night of the Superbowl actually).
I got off damn lightly considering the circumstances though - caught on university property with class A, B and C drugs. The university didn't kick me out - they've let me resit the final year cos I would have fucked up the exams (and ended up with a shitty-grade degree, if I'd even passed my exams) if I'd sat them this time around.
They didn't even throw me out of university accommodation - I got moved to a nice 4-bedroom house (meant for postgrad students) so that I was on uni property and they could 'monitor my progress', because I was so screwed up they thought I was gonna kill myself or something. I got off DAMN lightly.
The main problem was the withdrawals - with all my stash seized by the police, I was WD'ing like fuck - off benzos and opiates at the same time. It was about 6 days before I managed to get any decent sleep at all. I asked my doctor to prescribe me something to help me sleep because diph wasn't doing shit, but he wouldn't give me anything (and probably wrote "drug-seeker" on my medical record...). So I started drinking just for a couple of weeks, to ease the WD's. Once they were under control I got off the booze and been feeling great since.
Anyway, how you been man? Family OK? I did mean to send you that stuff I said I would, but as you may have guessed, the police have it now

Re: Can this bong be smoked again?
lol my bad about the mix up there guys, I was tired as hell.
Anyway, I wasn't asking about your well being out of selfishness, regarding that package, I really don't care about that, I was merely asking out of genuine concern for a friends well being.
As for your story, yeah, you got damn lucky, but good job on handling things the way you did, by drinking, and then stopping. Excellent idea, and I'm glad the sauce didn't grab you by the balls too, because it's really too easy to get into the habit of starting the day with a half pint of vodka. Kudos.
Glad to see you are doing better now. Don't be a stranger.

The student welfare officer made me make an appointment with a doctor a couple of days after I got arrested, just to see what my mental/physical condition was (shit...obviously) and when I told him the drugs and the dosages I was taking, he said "I'm surprised you're not dead". Stupid fuck wouldn't even prescribe me tapering doses for either opiates or benzos, so I was going cold turkey off both at the same time, which is why I was hitting the booze pretty hard the first week, then eased myself off, and now it's just the occasional one or two.
Anyway, things are going a hell of a lot better for me now - The uni are giving me another chance and I get to sit my final year from September as if it's the first time - none of my grades from last year count. If I had tried to sit my finals with all the police bullshit going on, I would have either failed, and not got a degree, or got a minimum pass (40%) which is just as worthless.
Plus, I'm trying to start up a SMART recovery group for university students. That was the group session I started attending after I got arrested and I found it so fucking helpful that even though the police crap is over for me, I'm still attending. I figure there must be more than a handful of students who have some sort of drug or alcohol problem (beyond the typical student recreational use levels) and if I can help them the way SMART helped me, it'll be worth it. If that sounds gay/cliche, fuck you :)
I was recently discussing my situation in terms of chaos theory with my best friend...it's too long to explain the whole chain of events but basically it boils down to: because (another) friend bought himself a guitar last Christmas, I almost certainly have a 6-month work placement lined up at the UN development agency office in either Ethiopia or Kenya after I graduate in the summer of 2009, which would set me up nicely for the career path I recently decided to pursue. Even me getting arrested was a contributory factor in this whole shebang. So now I am a follower of the Stupid Noob school of thought that everything happens for a reason.
By the way, I know it wasn't selfishness, but going through that story just reminded me and I felt bad about not being able to send you a gift, after promising twice that I would, just to say thanks for everything. Don't give up all hope yet though - I still have love to share, just not what you were expecting before. I'll be on MSN.
Thanks man.
