syphoning gas from a 2000 jetta
im having difficulty getting my money from this slut, so i figure ill just take gas as my payment. the girl drives a 2000 VW Jeta, and i was wondering if this car has a gas tank that can be reached by opening the cover, or if it needs to be opened by the button inside the car. does anyone know how to gain access to the gas tank

Re: syphoning gas from a 2000 jetta
I know someone with an '06 jetta. There is a button inside the car to unlock the panel covering the gas cap. Maybe you can pry it off. After the panel is open it's just like a normal gas tank.

If you are going through the trouble of breaking open her gas tank, you might as well just bust open her window and jack some shit...

Re: syphoning gas from a 2000 jetta
One thing to be careful of is that a lot of Jettas are diesel, this is identified by a "TDI" emblem on the back. I'm not sure, but it's possible that the diesel tank has different inner workings than a gasoline Jetta tank. So be careful.

I have a 2000 Jetta VR6 and the flip switch broke for release for the tank cover so I have to pull it open with my fingers. You should be able to do the same with no problem, don't be afraid to use some force.

You may also want to bring some thick wire, like a coat hanger. Some newer cars have a mesh screen between the gas cap and the tank, making it difficult to insert a hose to siphon.

That is true, but with a bit of force I bet it would come off pretty easy.

Diesel fuel will not work in gasoline engines. Can't figure out which fuel you've just siphoned? Candidate-for-darwin-award's method: drop a match into the fuel. If it goes out, you've got diesel. Lots of fire? Gasoline.

Re: syphoning gas from a 2000 jetta
It mostly depends on the hose you have. I used a fairly thin one, which fit in any car, but it couldnt make it through the screens. Only one way to find out what works for you...

Re: syphoning gas from a 2000 jetta
Bust the cap off, heavy duty screwdriver, ram the hose in. Post incriminating pics. Very VERY good idea.
