| Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more! |

Resistance Retribution: Insane Graphics for PSP!
http://www.gamekyo.com/video12718_re...-gameplay.html
Holy shit, just look at those graphics. Puts many PS2 games to shame. Hopefully it plays well, although I'm willing to bet it will because it's from the same guys who made the two Syphon Filter games on PSP. I never got a chance to play the second, but the first one was fucking awesome.

Re: Resistance Retribution: Insane Graphics for PSP!
Second game I've seen that has unveiled the PSP's true graphical power.
EDIT: In case you're wondering, the first one was Chains of Olympus.

I figured you were mocking the game from the sound of your title, but damn, shit is sick.

Re: Resistance Retribution: Insane Graphics for PSP!
For Chains of Olympus, the devs had to petition hard for Sony to let them push the PSP past its recommended limits. They proved that the PSP can look amazing and still be stable.
Basically it opened the door for others to take advantage of the extra processing power and really let the PSP shine.

That's not quite true. Running the PSP at 333 Mhz isn't actually pushing it past it's limits, the processor is rated to run at the speed, even though most games run at 222 Mhz. The reason being that the battery drains much faster when the PSP is run at it's higher, default clock speed.

This.
That's why custom firmware let's you up the ante at the cost of battery...At least they're nice enough to give you the decision.

I already kick myself in the ass for buying the DS over the PSP.
