I actually though skateboarding was added, but a few days ago I find out I was mistaken. Guess I read somewhere they wanted to get it in 2012 then. Bit of googling seems to confirm it.

It went to shit when they let 14 year olds in, and then cheated and made them win even though they sucked (relatively).

I'm not a big fan of the olympics in general though, I find them to be pretty bullshit. They're not going to be fun until they add Cammag or Foxy Boxing as a sport.

IMHO every major sport would at least triple in coolness if it involved death.

Let's talk about how we can improve some Olympic sports:

Swimming: Sharks and/or piranhas.
Diving: Flaming rings and piranhas (let loose after entering water)
Hockey: On motorcycles with nails in clubs, hitting allowed. PuckGrenade detonates 5 seconds after goal.
Cycling: Blades on wheels, chains and bats for weapons.
Rowing: Teams have Uzis, canoes are reinforced and everyone has shields.
Fencing: Remove armour.
Boxing: Bare-knuckle.
Judo: Knives.
Football: Ball is armed after first kick, next kick disarms, next kick arms etc. (keeps the ball in motion)
Shooting and archery: Moving targets.
Basketball: Spikes randomly shoot out of ball.
Weightlifting: Instead of weights; use people, instead of just dropping it after lifting; snap back on knee. Extra points scored for clean break.
Sailing: Think pirates.
Gymnastics: Traps are placed across the mat.

Main Event: All Gold medal winners battle it out against each other for the ultimate Medal... Gold with jewels in, something like that. Think roman gladiator battles. All those who survived but won no medals have cars and bikes and better weapons. Silver and Bronze medal winners can fight if they wish but only get kudos and a cash prize if they survive. Those without medals are just fighting for survival.
