Tropic Thunder
I went and saw it last night and I am going to have to say that it was well worth it.
Its been a long time since I have sat through a movie that made me laugh pretty much most of the way through it.
It has been getting alot of good reviews 84% on RottenTomatoes which is what I base alot of my critiques off of and well my sense in movies in general as well.
First off the opening of the film was fucking hilarious... And unexpected I loved how they did that shit.
Also the jokes in the film were well put and just hell... It was funny as fuck.
I'm not a big Jack Black fan at all but his role in this film was pretty alright...
Ben Stiller and Downey's roles I enjoyed much more.
And I didn't even know that the one dude was Tom Cruise until the very end of the film... I was like wtf how did I not notice that?
All in All... DEFINATELY worth cashing out 7 or 8 bucks to see... I may go see it again sometime.
My friends are saying they enjoyed Pineapple Express more, I haven't seen the film but I can't see how it could be funnier/better than Tropic Thunder.
I guess I'll have to just watch it...
So has anyone else seen Tropic Thunder yet?

Re: Tropic Thunder
I just saw it today. It was definitely one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. The last one that really made me laugh was Wedding Crashers, so...it's been a while.
It was mostly hit or miss humor, but when it hit, it usually hit pretty good. Like Tom Cruise's character pretty much sums up the movie's style. He had some ridiculously funny parts, but then there was just stupid "heh" stuff, like with him dancing. In fact, the part where he talks to the terrorist group was probably the part I laughed the hardest at...in particular, "You need to take a step back, and fuck yourself in the face."
The rest of the cast was great as well, of course. Jack Black is perhaps at the funniest I've seen him. Robert Downey Jr. was great (it was pretty gimicky, but hilarious and tactful too), Ben Stiller had some good parts, and even the two no-name guys were pretty damn funny at times. Oh, and some of the facial expressions in this movie were fucking brilliant. Like when Robert Downey Jr. is saying something, and he like...gets a big smile on his face for no reason, then goes back into serious-mode. That was classic.
Anyways, funniest thing I've seen in a while. Hit or miss, but some great hits.

I agree with you completely... When Tom Cruise was dancing to that music is just made me sad I was smiling... Wasn't too funny at all but all in all the film made up for it.
I also enjoyed how Downey would look at what seem directly at the audience in certain scenes... Pretty cool.
Simple Jack though was FUCKING AWESOME!!!
Simple jack was probably one of the funniest scenes in the film though, fucking a.

"To, the man's credit, he's eased up on the retard throttle. Now that's out of the balance, and the audience can connect. I mean, that's theater 101..."

Re: Tropic Thunder
I just saw it, the bf thought it was really offensive but I couldn't stop laughing. It's a shame it's getting bad press from those retards, people need to chill.
I think the actors pulled their roles off really well, some of the humour could have been delivered really stupidly but they managed to do it.
"No a panda, I killed a panda"
"Amanda? C'mon dude that's probably not even her real name"
I was in stitches.

Re: Tropic Thunder
It was mostly funny, with some awkward/bland moments (Tom Cruise dancing/most of Mathew McConaughey).
It's definitely worth seeing just for Robert Downey Jr's performance though.
