I`ll make this story short, friend got his laptop stolen by neighbor, and we are going to get it back.

I need some ways to get in a garage with an electric opener and Bar Locks.

Do you NEED to go in through the garage? it sounds too troublesome. Try to gain entry through a weaker entry point of the house, like a basement window or sliding glass door in the back. Maybe you can scope the house out at night by looking through their windows, maybe you'll spot it in a bedroom near a window, that you can smash and grab at a later time.

The laptop is in the garage with other electronics.

Well as a worst-case scenario, you could always get the police involved.

Glad you got it, but this is sorta anti-climatic. Can you explain how you got it back? nothing too incriminative ofcourse.

Simple diversion and urban camo......

i had my friend set off his car alarm and I (Rambo) went in the garage and snatched the laptop. i had to use a prybar to get his side door open.
all in all my mission is completed.
