OK so I want to take acid by myself. I've done it three times so far, once with 2 of my good friends, which was kind of awkward, so I decided I wanted to do it with only one other friend. Well I've done that twice, and the same problem occurred, it was as if we weren't on the same page the whole trip. I consider myself to be moderately intelligent, and the friends I did it with the past 2 times are cool guys, but not the most intellectual, so I felt we were on entirely different levels during the trip.

Well I leave for college in a week and won't be doing any acid there, so I want to do acid by myself once this week. Have you guys ever experienced such a thing, and how was it? Any suggestions?

Definitely do it. Go out in nature, or just go on an aimless walk. Expect to learn a lot.

Exactly what I was going to say. Just go out and get lost in the woods. Enjoy the trees and the night sky and the sounds all around you. Also (as already said) expect to learn a lot about yourself and the world around you...there are few experiences like this while your on Acid.

Don't take a shitload, but I'd say go for it.

A lot of people can have real bad trips real easily when they're alone though. Depends mostly on the person. Acid will open up thoughts you aren't used to thinking and that fucks with some people big time.

But like the others said, I recommend going out into nature. Pick a familiar trail to walk and do it in the day time. Bring some music along and just sit and chill if you want. Pack water and smokes (if you smoke, of course).

I agree with picking a familiar place..my original post made it sound like you should go somewhere you've never been and just wander off. Do that and you may not ever make it back ;).

However, I disagree with doing it during the day. I would go around 6-7 PM (about dusk) and trip through the night if possible. Just make sure you let some people know where you are in case you don't show the next day..and make sure you can handle yourself on acid. The night sky in the woods alone is by far the best sight you'll see out there while you trip. Purple Haze.

The reason I said during the day is to avoid shadow monsters and the like. I personally don't fare well with psychedelics at night alone because shadows freak me the fuck out. Again, I guess it depends on the person though.

find a place where you can be, by yourself, undisturbed for sometime, but importantly safe. all hell should be able to go wrong in reality with you in trip land undisturbed....


but yea it should be fun, you find more out about yourself that way...

It might just be me but I really prefer tripping alone. Maybe it's just because sometimes when I trip with people they freak out and I have to try to calm them down and bring them back to reality and it brings me down too, or maybe it's just because of the fact that I don't really like social interaction at the best of times, even with my best mates.

haha, I know there will probably be more available to me than there is now even. I just meant I don't plan on taking any acid, at least for the first couple months I'm there...or at least a few weeks I suppose : P

I'm thinking I'll just chill in my basement, listen to a shitload of music and whatnot, and then after the main peak cruise to a nearby park outside where I walk the trails all the time and I know I won't get lost/confused. Any other suggestions for things to do by myself that will be worthwhile?

be artistic in any way you know how. Play music, draw, write, play with legos, whatever. It's really cool to see what you came up with the next day, a good way to learn about yourself.

In the basement? Try not to make too many plans when you're going to drop, once your in the thick of it you'll find ways to entertain yourself.

A little "Trip tool" I use is to get a tv that has a blue screen (like set it to AV1 or HDMI with nothing turned on) and get yourself some Christmas lights. When you hold them in front of the TV the only thing you'll see is those lights. You wont see your reflection at all, therefore it looks like the lights are an independent object. You can make them into the shape of a person or animal or whatever and it seems to be moving on it's own. It's alot trippier than it sounds..but I also did it with a friend so we took turns doing it and spacing out.

Glow sticks/glow in the dark paint are always good too...other than that, like I said, you'll find something to do

i used to like doing it by my self but now i think it is much better with people becouse it will give you a vry new insite on some small things in life that you have put much thought in to. I recomend makeing things with clay painting drawing ond outher things like that. in the begning of the trip i like to walk though my woods and get some insperation from nature. Music is grat becouse it can make you think of things and really help the mood of the trip.

I wouldn't say tripping by yourself would bring a "bad trip", its definitely more introspective and sometimes uncomfortable which normally wont last too long. You'll get alot out of it too. If you hold onto what you learned it can be for the best considering you were only uncomfortable for an hour or two. I've had that man my friend are idiots trip, I prefer eating cid by myself. :)

Time for a more detailed response.

Tripping with others will always mean outside stimuli during the trip. Distractions from your mind, and sometimes people imposing upon others.

With others around, it's hard to truly get lost in the trip (which is a good thing.)

Many of the times when you're starting to visualize -- get very good, meaningul (mostly the ones that are in your mind) hallucinations, someone around you can interrupt those. As a distraction, they make it difficult to continue with a hallucination and truly explore it deeply. Once you start falling down the rabbit hole, someone else will usually pull you out, and it sucks.

Tripping by yourself will ensure no distraction. In my experiences, no matter the dose, solo tripping is generally more intense simply because there is no one to interrupt your mind from wandering.

I find all psychedelics are amazing alone. Not to say I don't also find them good socially too. Acid in particular is good for alertness or at least activity, my first and maybe best experience was at a show. Nothing like peaking while dancing, listening to an amazing band, and being with people you love.

Being alone makes it easier to see the beauty in everything.

Assuming all goes well of course. My only suggestions aside from the obvious happy and inviting atmosphere would be as xxombie said, creative. It'll free your mind from a lot of constraints. Just an atmosphere where you're free.

Oh, and make sure you have a bit of money in case you think it's a good idea to go out of town or something stupid. I dunno, it's always good to be prepared. Unless it takes away from the experience of being free.

The trip is most definitely more intense at night and being in the woods is going to offer alot more to focus on than just some tree bark. The darkness will actually intensify the visuals because not being able to see allows your mind to run completely wild.

i rode down to the park and scored 2 hits today. took those as soon as i got them and went mountain biking. good times

First time on acid was on 3drops of quality blotter alone in my house... Thought i had gotten scummed so i took three just in case it was low quality or not real at all. Boy was i surprised when the colors came and i looked out my window and the cars drove moving backwards in time(they were all driving backwards) but after watching that for a few minutes they went back to normal and starting driving normal..This is where i looked at my lawn which took on an outgraved diamond pattern..Can't say i regret it though...Personally i enjoy tripping by myself at least some of the time of the trip...That's where the most introspection takes place and is generally a calmer easier setting with noone to "bug you out" or cause any form of disruption to you.

I've only ever done acid by myself. 2 hits (for my first time) at around 10:30/11 (really late) an was up all night playing halo. Also managed to watch Alice in Wonderland, which is freaking amazing on acid. All the colors changing and political undertones I never picked up watching as a kid.

Thanks for reminding me...That night was the first night i've ever truly saw Fear and Loathing....It was like seeing it for the first time because from the changed perspective it truly was a different movie

what do you mean u learn alot on acid

it makes you think about things that would never have crossed your mind. things that have substantial value, not like every day things. acid shows you your place in the world. we aren't special, we're all animals. thats what i got from yesterdays trip, in a nut shell

At the least it'll give you respect for something and prove to you that there are powerful things out that that obviously go beyond your understanding...Lsd is a powerful chemical who limits extend to no boundary...Once you understand that the possibilities are endless:)

Tripping alone is probably the greatest way to trip my friend. Personally I like to lie down in bed with the TV running and closing my eyes listening to everything around me, usually 10 minutes into the trip I get sick of it so i turn it off. Then I will play some Led zeppelin and listen to that, the music feels as if it's touching my soul. Then I go into a deep dreamy state of self reflection, and I get to know myself deeper and realize the person I really am.
