Default A question for cigarette smokers

I've been smoking cigarettes for a few months now, about 1.5 packs a month. I still get a buzz, but I know I will lose it soon. My question for smokers who have been addicted for a while and no longer get a buzz is, if u take extra big hits, and hold it in as long as u can, will u get a buzz, or is there no way? Also, do u like being addicted. It seems like to me, it would feel real nice to have that craving for a few hours and finally get that work break where u can take in that hit. thanks

I NEVER get a buzz from nicotine anymore. I've been smoking or 7 years now. Currently, I smoke about 35-40 roll-your-owns per day.You start to get a tolerance quickly.

I'm not gonna even dignify your second question (about liking being addicted) with a response. You're a moron.

Uh..no, I don't get a buzz anymore..nor do I hold it in as long as I can. I would suggest you stop smoking while your still getting that buzz and smoking as few as 1.5 packs a month. Smoking cigs is neither cool nor enjoyable and you will regret starting up in the long run.

And did you actually ask if people like being addicted to cigs? Oh hell yeah, it's enjoyable having a need for disgusting, smelly, unhealthy cigarettes. After you've smoked a while you will start having discomfort in your lungs after each smoke, but continue to buy them and smoke them (most likely) way to often. If you continue you'll probably increase your smoking to .5-1.5 packs a day..not a month. So like I said, I suggest you quit.

Addiction is just another word for weakness...cig withdrawls = a couple days of headaches/bitchiness at max? OMG CAN"T STOP.

People smoke because they like to and like being "addicted" to something.

I'm "addicted" to the action of smoking myself. Having something to do with my hands. I'm not so much hooked on the nicotine, but that's what gets alot of people...and I don't get headaches when I go a few days without a cigs...I also wouldn't say I like to smoke as much as it is a habit.

I only smoke about a pack a month now adays. When I do smoke, I smoke menthols - my favorite being USA Dark greens and Kool filter king shorts.

But I dip a can of Skoal Apple every 2 days.

I love nicotine because I've been clean and sober for drugs for 2 months, It's a great alternative.. for now.

Hell, I've been smoking about a pack a week for the last six years. It's quite possible. I can go days without one with no consequences.

Yeah so he's smoked a whopping 5 maybe 6 packsEEK! in his life. Sorry for making fun of you man but if you can keep it down to a cig a day and you like to have it after work or dinner or whatnot, why not do it, but just know that it's very easy for that 1 cig habit to become a pack a day habit.;)

Yeah, and it's even nicer when you have that craving for a few hours then can't smoke for whatever reason and are fiending like a motherfucker.

I wouldn't say I get a "buzz" from cigarettes when I do smoke but it seems to clear my head a bit for lack of a better explanation. Then again, I only smoke about a pack a week so I'm not really qualified to answer your question.

I do dip about two or three times a day now, though. Horrible fucking habit but I like my nicotine and patches are expensive and gum tastes like ass.

in all reality it kind of sucks, especially if you arent 18 yet or don't have parents who will support your habit...

ive been smoking for about a year... my parents will buy cigarettes for me if i give them money, or i just drive to a gas station where i know i won't be carded....

when your working long shifts at work or going to school by the end of the day your just like "cigarette cigarette cigarette!"... as soon as i leave the parking lot i light one...

and yea, after you have gone 8-12 hours without one it will get you buzzed... but honestly, quit while your ahead... quitting 30 cigarettes a month is hardly a feat, quiting 30 a day is a task...

Truth. That's why I suggested you (OP) quit now while you're only smoke such a small amount. I've been smoking for around 8 years (since I was 15) and it's been a long time since I actually enjoyed it. I love having my cig when I wake up but only because I've got a habit. I've been on about a pack and a half for about 4 years now and not only is it expensive but it's def. getting to me health wise now.

If you have any Indian Smoke Shops around there i'd recommend going there. The cigs are WAY cheaper there than most other places. They're usually connected to a casino

When 27s first came out they had a badass deal down here on them (most likely trying to hook people on their new brand) and I was able to get a 5 pack for like $8.50. I never really dug them that much though.

I'm not really interested in the thread but here's for your curiosity.

No headrush/buzz but I feel the sedation and I've been smoking a pack a day for 3 years.

and the addiction will be real nice when your unable to breath down the road.. it's kinda crucial if you know what I mean. The pains leading up to it I hear aren't so great either. I right now actually have some minor chest pain going on. It'll pass but it does make you wonder why the fuck you keep smoking. Riigghht it's so great.

and don't get me wrong there, I still love smoking.

I used to be a lot more strict with that stuff at my store, but I've eased up a lot. I get a lot of regulars in there who I'm sure are probably 16-17 but as long as I somewhat know them and they're respectful when they come in, I let them slide. You've gotta be careful doing that because cops DO run occasional tests on stores like mine to nab clerks who are doing that which is why I only apply the slack to kids who I see on a regular basis and/or who smell like weed and look high anyways when they come in.

du marier are like smoking slightly flavoured air and have shitty nicotine content. The cigarettes with the most nicotine in Canada are Canadian Classics which dont give me headrushs. I do get a slight buzz if I smoke it real fast though.

I'm on my 4th day of quitting after 3 years:
1. No cigarette will ever be as good as the first one you have after a wake and bake...well except maybe the first one on acid, or opiates, or mushrooms...or coke...or coffee
2. Imagine trying to sleep without being able to feel your lungs (except pain) when you breath except for a few tiny spots

I'm dipping a fatty of apple right now. I just recently took up dipping, but I've been through a can of every Skoal flavor except original. The only brand I've tried so far is Skoal.

I personally, think that they all taste like shit except the apple, I'm on my fourth or fifth can of apple.

I am thinking about picking up a can of Copenhagen after I finish this apple, but I'm not quite sure yet. I hate being stuck with a whole can of dip that I don't like.

I heard It's much stronger than Skoal, and a few times that the Whiskey blend is good.

yeah its bomb, just be careful cuz its definitely a "man's dip" if you know what I mean. Whiskey's kinda bitter, Skoal apple and citrus are sweet.

It's weird for me, sometimes I get a buzz others I don't. I smoke probably 3-5 cigs a day (not including days when I booze).

I wouldn't consider myself addicted seeing as I occasionally go days at a time without a smoke for one reason or another and it doesn't really bother me. I don't see why you'd be happy to be addicted to 'em though...

I'm fucking obsessed with dip, for fuck's sake.
I just collected all of my empty cans and began a little pyramid, mostly Skoal Apple. Next to the stack will be Copenhagen Whiskey, hopefully it's in stock.

The thing that pisses me off about dip in my area is that hardly anyone does it. Due to this, stores don't give a fuck about their stocks. Every time I buy a can, I have to make the cashier go through their Skoal stocks to find me a can which isn't expired. I've seen them throw away a whole shelf full right before my eyes due to every single can being expired.

The fucking Skoal blends cost nearly 8 dollars a can here in Hawai'i. It's ridiculous when I hear of it costing 3-5 dollars in the mainland. But hey, it's well worth it in my book. I'm drug free so all I spend my cash on is regular expenses and dip! Woooo.

Let's talk about dip!

$8, holy shit thats way too much for a can. thats fucking robbery, but what are you gonna do? i'm an ex smoker who turned to dip after onths without a smoke.now i'm going through a can every few days. i'm to the point now where i dont even spit anymore, i just swallow the shit.(the spit, not the dip)

i'll probably catch shit for saying this, but i actually turned to skoal pouches. its the perfect pre-measured dip, you dont get shit all stuck in your teeth, and like i said, i dont spit anymore so it really helps to not swallow any tobacco.

it's such a dirty fucking habit, but damn if a fat ass dip doesnt help to get your day going in the right direction. nothing like that first rush of nicotine in the morning. IMHO

I hear ya', except for the fact that you enjoy sucking tampon juice. Pouches are horrible, in my opinion.

You chew Skoal? What flavor?

I love the taste of the Apple so much that I sometimes swallow it, but it feels weird in my throat and I just can't help thinking that It's bad for your stomach..

i used to dip cope long-cut, but it was fucking up my lips, plus my girl can smell the cope on my breath. one of the reasons i switched to skoal pouches. i flip-flop between the mint and wintergreen, whatever is freshest. sometimes its a bitch trying to find non-expired dip. i throw it back between my back lower molars and cheek. you cant even tell i'm dipping, witch works out with the job and what not.

the only problem with the pouches is you dont really get that burn, wich i like, but i still get the nicotine i want just the same. if i dip cope straight cut i tend to swallow a little of the dip and then i can feel my stomach bubbling and feeling like shit, but with the pouches i dont. i'm assuming it's because i'm not swallowing any tobacco. or it's probably because my body is just used to it by now, which kinda concerns me too.

i've tried all the flavors, and many different brands. my favorite flavor has gotta be cope though. if you want a dip with a high level of fiber-glass and nicotine, try Kodiac.that shit is the strongest fucking dip i've ever had. it'll fuck your lip up pretty quick though, the fiber=glass and all. but talk about a nicotine buzz.

worst dip ever, rooster. that shit tasted like tootpaste and had the texture of coffee grounds. cheap though, but horrible.

the problem with the good tasting shit, i.e. apple, cherry, citrus, is it tastes so much like candy that i have to force myself not to swallow the dip and keep reminding myself it's not a fucking jolly-rancher. lulz

Shit, 27s are the only smokes I like...

Prefer dipping Grizzly Straight but try to alternate it with Cope Longcut because Grizzly cuts up your gums like a motherfucker. Hell of a lot more nicotine but as far as the quality of the tobacco goes...well, it's $1.96 for a reason.

Tastes fantastic, though. Bourbon on the rocks and Grizzly Straight at 9:15 am...breakfast of champions.

Why yes!:) Smoking in the mornings often DOES give me that buzz! The thing is, I don't enjoy it anymore. maybe it's changed since i started smoking gradually or something cause i sure as fuck liked it in grade 10. Anyways, God bless!

Well, I couldn't find the Copenhagen Whiskey blend, so I picked up the Copenhagen Long Cut can.

This is my first non-Skoal dip, and I love it. It's very strong, Skoal stopped giving me a buzz but this stuff is wow!
It taste great, and smells great. I have a new dip brand now.
I'll try Walmart for the Whiskey blend after I finish this can.

Skoal, Cope and Kodiak are all in the $7-8 dollar range around here, its pretty gay but its good dip so whatever.

And pouches are for pussies!

Yes sir, Cope long cut is where its at. However, after looking into some government studies online, Grizzly, one of the cheapest brands out there, has the most nicotine of mainstream dip brands, even more than Cope. I alternate between Cope Long Cut and Grizzly Mint.

Anywyas, back to the OPs question. I smoke a pack and a half of Marlboro 100s a day, and I hate myself for it. Yes, I usually get a mild buzz in the morning after a night of no nicotine, but I've slept with a dip in before to avoid this. (Sad, I know.) I dont really like the buzz, because it simply reminds me of how dependent I am on nicotine... if you're at a pack and a half a month, YOU'RE SMOKING ONE FUCKING CIG A DAY! QUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will be much harder when you smoke 20-40 cigs a day.

cope black isnt all that bad either, just a spin on copes tasty flavor. if you want something to give you an even stronger buzz, IMO, try cope snuff. it's fine cut so it's messy as shit, but stronger flavor that tends to last longer than the long cut style.
