it would help if you posted the minimum wage where you live so we could get an idea of how big your wage penis really is relative to everyone else around you, as well as the cost of living and shit. cause my guess is the OP lives in australia.

state minimum wage: $7.25

my wage: $7.50

I work 40 hrs. per week and bring home about about $540 every two weeks. Not too shabby considering I live at home still, don't drive, and my only expenses at the moment are groceries (about $130 per month) and my cell phone bill (about $40/month).

I remember when it went from around $5.15 to $6.85, I believe it was, and nearly shat myself because I was $1.70 closer to being at the bottom.

I make $12/hr (summer) plus I get to make my own hours. All I do is sit by a pool that is never used at an apartment complex one mile from my house and sip mixed drinks. Car, school, cell phone, food, clothes, and everything else is paid for by parents. Have very pricey exotic marijuana habit though.

$13/hr during the school year but the job is much more demanding (and by demanding I mean that I have to file papers and cannot get drunk at work).

at the moment i work maybe 10-20 hrs over weekends and the occasional weekday.
i make around $250-$350 a week, but i'm full time at uni, so i don't work much more than that.
and i'm a kitchenhand, so stealing/ getting leftovers from work helps me cut down on food spending.

not sure what the minimum wage for my age bracket is, i think its somewhere around $14 for casual staff.

even though i'm a total shitkicker, there is much worse things that i could be doing.

$17.50....only lasted a week then got fired.

Going up to $20.50/hour soon, plus 22% for early morning(like midnight to 6am) and 18% for nights. But it's gonna be hard work at the airport.....gonna suck in summer.

minimum here is like $8/hour, but all the fast food places are easy to work at(and employ some stupid mother fuckers)

You must get some nice bonuses to be getting 35,000 a year. Your base rate with the given hours would only give you 11,050 max.
