Default I thought pharmacy's were supposed to have tons of procedures

Such as picking up a pill that was dropped and having someone destroy the pill in front of the pharmacist and mark it down that it was destroyed and stuff.

And that they have separate trashcans for pills that never leaves the store and stuff.

I just got a job at walgreens and I was talking to this pharmacy girl in the breakroom and we got to talking about pharmacy and I asked her about it, and she said they don't do any of that stuff, and that there are probably tons of pills on the floor.

I worked at a walgreens a while back and managed to do some snooping around the pharmacy. There were pills on the floor but they weren't the ones you're hoping are there. If they're filling any kind of narcotic or narcotic-esqe pills they are extra careful and don't just let them fall.

The pharmacy where I work seems to have separate trash bins for pills.

But I take out the trash.

lol, and all that security goes to shit!

I remember from a previous thread about dumpster diving for pills, that the scheduled scripts were placed in a bio-hazard type bin or container that was picked up by a certain agency...in other words, nothing good hits the open trash cans...right?

I used to work at a Walgreen's pharmacy as a tech, and we were instructed to never throw away C-II tab/capsules if we dropped them. We picked them up and dispensed them anyway because they're very stringently regulated [supposedly].

Anything else just went in the regular trash can... or my pocket.

At the pharmacy I work at (i'm a pharm tech/student)* they count the narcotics clearly in front of a camera.
