Solutions to that problem:
  • Go to stores with little security
  • Use stores with a no-chase policy

  • Don't act suspicious
  • If you see someone near you more than twice, bail out.
  • Have a plan (for the theft, and escape if need be)
  • Remove tags, they they are
    1. Present
    2. Removable

I can (and do) successfully nab around $150 per week (and look a bit sketchy while doing it) at the Wal-Mart in my town, going once a week.

First.

I've gotten two Leatherman multi tools from Lowes the past couple days, and I sold them on craigslist for 50 dollars a piece, when they retail for 70. They were pretty simple to get:

1. Get Item off of rack.
2. Walk into Lawn and Garden section
3. To to opposite site of Lawn and Garden section as the register there is.
4. There is a 3-4 inch gap between the pavement and when the fence begins, just slide the item underneath there.
5. Either walk around and grab them or drive over to the side, pretend you're looking at the trailers or something over there, and just run over grab them and peace out.

Something new to try..instead of stealing electronics lol

Go to your local Kroger/grocery store with a backpack and just pack power bars, protein shakes and pounds and pounds of beef jerky.

Im almost positive the small amount of cameras in the store are not watched for theft but for liability if someone tried to do one of those fall scams.

I made 3 trips to the same store in 1 hour and got about 200 dollars worth of stuff and I didnt even notice an awkward glance

That probably would work really well. No one usually steals from grocery stores.. so there is less suspicion.

you could also take a bike helmet or something also and then buy a pack of gum or something so make it look more legit

Sorry I mostly just posted that to hold my place. Anyways, if you get a dozen raz0rz you can sell them for around $50. Not a bad profit.

9/19

i got a nice grab today. i was drunk off my ass, my friend dragged me out, he went into a store bought some shit, i took his receipt and grabbed a nice pellet rifle and walked out with that shit like it was mine. but beofre i did i opend the box to check for sensors, also grabbed some ammo for the piece. its not too bad. total around $200 for the trip. shot it, its too loud.

------------------------
Whenever I do shit I never draw any attention to myself and if I’m drunk I act normal. this store had a bunch of registers throughout, my buddy paid for his in the middle of the store and I took the box, around 4 feet long, and carried it, I didn’t look around ,there where workers not far away. I know there are cameras and I know people see me. I just took it and walked towards another register by the door. Then I took the receipt and made sure that if any worker was to look at me, and see the box I’m carrying, they would see the receipt as well. This box is too big to bag so bags were not a problem. I know I was on possibly several cameras, but I didn’t set any alarms off or raise any suspicion, that I didn’t pay for it, in a month or two when they do inventory they will not go thru 1500 hours of video. It was very bold and no one said anything, I walked slowly outside and did not run. You can do this easily with large objects; I was thinking about taking a nice new bike of my choice, I saw some for almost 1G! That’s my next project, been thinking for a while.

I just can't wait till the xmas sales (Black Friday), everyone in the UK attempts to make a big deal out of xmas and start preparing with gifts earlier; plenty of good opportunities for shoplifting and pickpocketing (pickpocketing actually works best in a "Black Friday" environment).

Same, carshopping should be at it's prime too. (In Texas it's too hot to go in the summer, so Winter is almost always the only time to go)

I'm thinking of stealing a bench grinder or a dremel from my local hardware/gardening shop. I could use a little advice, as I've never stolen anything as big as a grinder before. I was thinking of taking the grinder out of the hardware area into the outdoor area, and simply throwing it over the fence (to one of my friends) and exiting the shop.

Or if the grinder proved too hard to steal, I was thinking of getting a dremel and sliding it under the fence, or putting the whole package in my large jacket and just walking out.

Questions, comments, tips?

Here's an idea that is useful for winter lifting (which is thankfuly near =D) because a coat is helpful however cargo pants could work fine too.

With a small but decent can opener and pocket knife opening those pain the ass plastic packages can be done very quietly. Just use the can opener to cut open the long side of the packaging and then slide the knife around the other 4 sides. This plan kind of requires being in a bathroom but I do most of my lifting in there anyways, it makes a lot less noise then just prying apart the plastic. Just remember to conceal your goods before you enter the bathroom, conceal them well as if you were just going to leave the store with them in a regular shoplift because if they see you enter the bathroom with something and come out with nothing its game over =(
The inside pocket of a jacket is a good place to conceal the opener and pocket knife, I also like to bring a plastic bag in my jeans pocket and place all of the packaging in the bag when I'm done, tie it off and bury it in the garbage can under some paper towels.
Hopefully this is helpful to someone
Cheers!
-FC

EDIT: Here is a video showing the kind of package I'm talking about and how to do it, get a smaller can opener than the one in the vid though and make sure it's new and sharp.

Someone I know worked for a knife company and he had these scissors they were incredibly sharp, and long to.

I seriously saw him cut a penny with ease using them. They cost me $45 but omg.. they worked wonders. I went into the electronic department of Zellers and just simply sliced the top part of the plastic (right under the security tag) and bagged it.

I was the only person inside the place, and the cashier who was paying more attention to her cellphone trying to hide it under her desk.

So simple, so fast, so effective, the camera probably couldn't even see me work.

Charizard, where you been, man? Would have never thought about using a can opener, I'll have to try it.

Didn't get anything today except a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife (~$20). Could have gotten something more expensive (electronics, etc.), but I actually needed this. I've been carrying around half of a multi-tool with a dull blade for the past two weeks. The blades on this fucker came razor sharp. Sliced strait through a piece of paper with the exact same ease as a brand new razor blade, with a .004" edge. Two knives (1.5" & 2.375"), flat head & Phillips head screwdrivers, can opener, scissors, tweezers , toothpick, reamer, and hook.

Only pocket knife (aside from a $1 folder) Wal-Mart doesn't have locked up.

How can you insult someone when you are a new arrival and still using the word Swim.
Maybe he wasnt being close minded but trying help you.

Using a roofing blade can be alot more affective than a pocket knife and way more logical than a giant pair of scissors

I've been lurking I'm so used to just reading and not posting from the closed registration days that sometimes I forget I can post now lol,and I've been busy now that school has started back up again. I have a Victorinox too and they're pretty nice. If you want another really great knife for lifting go to a sporting goods store like Gander Mtn or Dick's and buy or lift a Kershaw spring assisted blade. I have one and it works wonders. You don't have to get the spring assisted kind but I like it more, and the blade cuts plastic like butter.

@ CDAWG I use roofing blades all the time, I know they work fine, sometimes there is two layers of plastic and it is just loud and time consuming to use nothing but brute force, it's just a matter of preference I was just defending my preference. And I'll try to stop using swim I guess, I'm just used to seeing it a lot.

In order to reduce first page "hypothetical"/Locke/spam retradary, I declare: Ein, zwei, drei, vier, fünf, SECHS!

Phanatic, you could also just grab & go with it, or do a box stuffing. The over-the-fence method is good, but you're likely to be stopped before you make it out, since they likely have cameras on both a gardening section & parking lot. Worth a shot, though. I'd probably just make a run for it after looking at some plants. Or better yet, ahve a friend get the person working in the gardening section to come look at a plant and answer a few questions while you slide your package over the scanner and walk away.

I used to shoplift a lot more than I do now; I got caught once so I'm a lot more wary now. Anyway, the Macy's at the mall around here is ridiculously easy to steal from. They don't have an item limit on the dressing rooms and no one bothers to check anyway. I got a cardigan they were trying to sell for $34 the other day by going into the dressing room with it and some other items, taking off the tags (it didn't have an ink tag, though some of their other stuff does), and putting it in one of my other shopping bags.

I don't know about the Macy's in other areas but the one here is ridiculous, everything's practically free.

There is only one exit to the shop, there's no exit from the gardening section - you gotta go out through the door. I can't really explain the layout of the store well over the internet. What I might do is just get the dremel, stick it and the packaging inside my large jacket, and walk out. There aren't any door sensors, in fact no security is visible. If I was caught I could just leg it away from the store I suppose.

The only other way to get it out of there is over, under, or through the fence . It really wouldn't be that hard to cut out a strip in the fence large enough for me to get
a) Myself
B) The merchandise
C) Both
out of there.

They have usually have a 3 ft reach, so no unless you have a kid that's a little over 3 ft on your shoulders and they have the goods stashed on them.

Yes magic bags work, as I've said in the previous shoplifting threads, make with a ziplock bag and tin foil and mask it with tape to be the same colour as the inside of your jacket; make sure there are no gaps in the foil and make sure it has a flap to close over as well as be sealed shut because of the ziplock bag.

I wouldn't always vouch on that but yeah it's a good basis to go off; I use shit tons of foil though and have it done properly with no gaps in (when I say shit loads I mean like 25+ layers of foil and then masked with a few layers of masking tape and then duct tape). Never had the alarms go off on me when using them, although I'm more prone to doing snatch and runs or just cut through the tags and if they have them on anything then I take spider wraps off with an s3 handkey; clothing tags I melt through with a torch lighter and get the ball bearings and cartridges out with a pin although you can buy detachers online for such tags like supertag (used alot); just do some research on the different tags and find the detachers that look like they'll be of use to you; but make sure they are for the type of tags you want to remove.

I find it easier to melt the tip and take the shit out and then it'll slide off easily. The reason for a torch lighter is because it'll burn though quicker than a regular big lighter and won't make as much smell (they're not stupid and will check the stall afterwards for the tag, ball bearings, cartridges etc.

i've made one, and it's kind of iffy right now. sometimes the phone works, at sometimes not. i'll keep adding layers though. i dont know how much foil i have left and i wish i would have taken some while i was there anyway, that would be pretty cool if i could actually get one to work.

It's useless if it has a massive gap at the top of it, which is why I recommended using a ziplock bag; and then make a flap for it that will fold over the top. An envelope can be used as well but ziplock magic bags are the best. Also a back with the inside lined with a few layers and then zipped up is good, but the disadvantage with using a backpack is that you're watched by LP more, so just go with the ziplock as your base.

Pics when you're finished.

Chances are if you can get it so the phone doesn't ring or have any signal at all once closed up in the bag then it's a reliable one, but don't go off that all the time.

Dude it should be fine though, I've used a bag of crisps (chips for you yanks) as a magic bag before and it worked.

If you want to test it on the actual stores sensors then find an acousto tag or buy a security tag online and activate it. To activate a de activated magnetic tag just go over it with a strong magnet until you hear a click (this means it's re activated), then put your tag in the magic bag and go to the stores; if it doesn't work the alarm will go off, and you won't get in trouble because you just entered (how could you possibly have stole anything) so they'll think the sensor is playing up. Ditch the tag in the store somewhere and then leave (after bagging up some groceries and just walking out).

If it doesn't set the alarm off then congrats, use to your hearts content.

If the alarm is set off though use it to your advantage, they'll think it's being screwy; just lift what you want and walk out. If you get a couple of other people to walk in as well with some activated tags then they may even turn the sensors off a little bit anyway and it'll be more convincing that the sensors are playing up.

Just to inform some people, I know at the CVS I work at, on alot of the makeup there are stickers that say "Property of CVS, if found please return to blah blah or call blah blah". It really looks rather innocent, but peel it back and lo and behold, a security tag.

Not sure if anyone here really lifts make up, but I can always provide info on CVS's security and such. Lifted over $100 tonight while working

do places like walgreens and cvs actually have a person working security...as in watching the cameras?

Is there a room that actually has cameras on live feed to be watching or are the cameras more of a liability if someone "fell" in the store and they wanted the video that they were faking.

There is never anyone in our store watching the cameras at full time, the only time they might be looked at is when a manager is in the office and just glances at them for a second, and managers are rarely ever in the office. The cameras are essentially there for stuff like you mentioned, or incase we get robbed.

i didn't use the magic bag. i really could have only fit one dvd, or maybe two cd's in it, and i figure if i was going to plan to set the alarms off, i might as well take alot more than that.

yesterday i went to wal-mart and walked in one of the main entrances, and got a cart. i put some dog food in it first, then went to the electronics department, and got some cd's (country, since they had no good metal cds) and one dvd, and put them in the child seat. i walked back up to where i got the spark plugs the day before, and pocketed the cd's and movie, and took some more spark plugs while i was at it (right near the fire exit in case i got caught). then i walked to the lawn and garden section and just slid the movie/cd's under the fence, (the gate) and walked around and got them. i was planning to just leave with it, but decided not to at the last minute.

anyway, neither of the cd's had a magnetic strip i could find, and come to think of it, none that i have got before had them. are they hidden or something? and if they do will they say it on the label like dvds?

Are their actual multiple camera TVs to be watched or is there like 1 tv in the office that loops through live on the 6 of 7 cameras in the usually store?

I have a sensormatic MK 225 Handheld Detacher. Anyone know how to remove the embedded tag inside so I don't sound off alarms when I go in the store? Email me at suavecita365@yahoo.com.

dumb ass,,,

u dont need the whole detacher. that thing is way to big. all you need is the hook. i make this part myself at a metal shop, you dont need anything else to remove those bitch tags. hook is smaller than a key from your house.....
so......... crack that bitch open, unscrew two screws, and never ever lose the hook.

i have some extra ones i made copies of, took me hours to machine cut them to the exact measurments. $100 a piece.

no fucked up business verification needed.

what u need?

does anyone know the return policy at lowes?

there was this torch i saw for like $15 that i wanted, and i think it's too big to take. i'm thinking about just pocketing a couple box cutters, and going back into the store later that day and exchange them for the torch.

Shoplifting is so fun and easy im starting to do it more often.
What I do is get the item I want, then with a modified x-acto knife I cut the item out while walking around the store, as if I am buying it. Then I put it in my hoodie. Also what you can do is have your shirt tucked in and throw shit down there as long as you have a hoodie.

My first visit to walmart racked up 125$, and i could have gotten so much more.
I got a question though, theres certain items that are locked up (have hard plastic so that you cant remove item off rack). I was thinking about just cutting the item off the rack with my knife, or are there better ways?

i think there might be
if u ask the sales person to get it for u
they will take it off the rack and hand it to u to look at
tell them u will buy it at the counter
then go a cut that shit outta the packaging
or use the can opener method

Man sad story:

While visiting my favorite wal-mart a guy was walking literally 1 step behind me on my way out. I figured he was LP so I acted like he wasnt there.

I got in my car, which was parked far away so I do not think he could identify it. I drove to the opposite side to enter the garden door for a third shopping trip, and there he was waiting.

I am guessing he was in phone communitcation with his partner.

I just bought some cheap stuff and left.

Anyway kind of a bummer to be spotted at your favorite spot.

Thumbs up Re: *Official* Shoplifting Tips and Techniques Thread Part Fünf

I just went shopping at my place of employment, the local library and got:
doobie brothers collector set- 48$
P.O.D cd (satellite)- 14$
Queens of The Stone Age cd (songs for the deaf)- 13$
Clerks II (dvd 2 disk fullscreen)- 13$
9 cd set (the Eagles)- 50$
all together i got 138$ worth

I thought that it was a pretty good shopping spree for a library. by the way the library had no cameras and i know all the shifts of the other employees which made it easier.

with more people it's harder to discretely do things, but if you had the balls to push a cart full of loot out of the doors it could work

This is something I want to try.
But not a cart, one of those handheld walmart bags, or a carrying cart or whatever theyr called. Fill it, have a friend watch the store from outside (look out for cops).
Then casually walk out with the goods, if told to stop, just continue walking, if followed, run.

Two questions:

1. I nabbed an Alpha Key from my work the other day, and all the other pictures I've seen of them are black, mine is white. Is it possible its an s2 key or something? Also, it has M2HKEY imprinted on the back.

http://img120.imageshack.us/my.php?i...2534238df4.png

2. I got it open, is this the RFID?

Alright, now that I got the tools, my final question.

Are things like external harddrives and such at places like Office Max or Staples source tagged, like tags in the product? I'd had to go through all this shit get it out the box, then end up with it being tagged on the inside.

If it's a one time deal, just grab them and walk out.

When the beepers go of just run.

But if you're planning on going back, as far as tags I'd guess that it depends on the store.

I've gotta quick question. I'm gonna be moving back to Cali around the start of next year, and I've read that liquor is sold in grocery stores there. Where I'm living right now, liquor's only sold in liquor stores and grocery stores just sell beer, wine, and champagne, stuff like that. I'm pretty excited to be able to steal some bottles of straight once I move, but I'm wondering if security is any different. So anyone that lives in a state where liquors sold in grocery stores (doesn't have to be California, though that'd be most helpful), what's the security situation like? Are LP likely? I doubt it but I wanna make sure security isn't ultra tight, just in case.

dont run only run if they ask you to stop. sears doesn't have any sensors, and the sears in the other town has toys (mine doesn't) i figure i can get it there

anyway, i already went today, but plan on going back after it gets dark (it's not that cold during the day.

i went to sears, and got a $50 mp3/video player. normally they're locked on those racks. but they had a woman right by them, but she was talking to other customers. i know they saw me stick it in my jacket

then i went to fye and got "lovecraft and witch hearts" by cradle of filth $20. i would have just took them all, but i noticed some had magnetic strips on them, but some mexicans set them off right as i was walking out i could have done it anyway.

i'll go back later tonight after it gets dark and they change shifts, and i'll go to wal-mart too. but this is just the start of the christmas shopping season. it gets even more crowded the weeks before christmas.
