The iMac turns 10 today
The original G3 iMac was shipped 10 years ago today (Aug 15) So lets here some opinions on the iMac, not only the older models but newer ones also.
What do you remember about the original iMac?
What do you think the iMac has done to the computer industry?
What model do you like the most?
What would you like to see in future iMacs?
I promise that I will share my opinions and a few stories about my iMac experiences when I have some more time. (It will be long)

Re: The iMac turns 10 today
I will edit this out when I have more time to do so, but I remember buying the Lime-colored iMac when it first came out. It has a 266MHz G3 CPU, 512MB of memory (Upgraded from the original 32MB), 6MB Rage Pro GPU, 80GB WD HD (Upgraded from the original 6GB HD), and it runs Mac OS X 10.3.9. It also has 9.2.2, but it's hardly ever used.
I use this machine almost everyday and often post replies from it. It sucks with Video but still rocks with Audio.
I love my little green iMac.
Peace.

Re: The iMac turns 10 today
As I promised.
I currently own two iMacs. The first Apple computer I actually purchased was a 500mhz Graphite iMac. I bought it in 2000 so that I would have a computer to work on at home. I used it almost everyday up until last year and it has never let me down. I used os9 on it for a long time until it really started to hold me back. I still use it every once and a while, mostly for surfing and some word processing.
Last August, I purchased a 2.4ghz 24" Alum. iMac. I had used the white intel imacs before the alum. came out but as soon as I saw the new design, I knew I had to have one. It's my home computer now and i use it for surfing, word processing, photo editing, and graphical design.
I think that the iMac is one of the most important products in Apples line. At first I only wanted the iMac for surfing and word processing but now, as the line has advanced, the iMac has become a real powerhouse. At work I use a Mac Pro and at home I use the iMac and to be honest the Mac Pro is over kill for what I do. If you want a powerful consumer computer, you cant go wrong with the iMac.
Another good Macworld article

Re: The iMac turns 10 today
Wow, its hard to believe that its been 10 years since the introduction of the line. I saw it as a change from the "classic" Macintosh look along with the addition of the iBook G3 and the revision of the power mac G3 with all the brightly colored cases. I remember seeing them in magazines and online and thinking about how cool they looked and I still want to get a lime green iMac.
I currently have a Bondi Blue iMac that I received with a damaged CRT that I *gasp* dismantled and modified to fit a dell CRT from my PC (yuck) that I "Macified". It actually looks pretty good with Winmac (apple menubar lookalike) ObjectDock (similar to the dock in OSX) and StyleXP with the Blue Panther theme (changes the start menu to an apple logo, along with the scrollbars and the title bar)

I know I went off topic slightly but I spent a lot longer on this reply then I should of so I decided not to delete it.

Re: The iMac turns 10 today
What do you remember about the original iMac?
I remember, when I saw them, I knew they would be hardcore. Later down the years, I remember I used to bitch that my Pentium II Windows ME Computer was faster than the G3.
What do you think the iMac has done to the computer industry?
it has certainly made them pay attention to aesthetics.
What model do you like the most?
I am quite partial to the iMac G4, The commercial always gives me a smile.

What would you like to see in future iMacs?
I would love to see a refresh in design (The Jay Leno Design is too old). Maybe bring back the colors, like the iPod Nano's.

I remember when these guys first hit the market. They advertised them as being "y2k compliant" - haha, remember y2k? How all the world's computers were supposed to suddenly realize "holy crap man, it's 1900?! I didn't exist then! Shit."
Yeah, no planes falling out of the sky and no computers imploding because they became self aware. However Apple did have a record breaking year.

Re: The iMac turns 10 today
The iMac was one of the first computers to not include a floppy drive.
Shortly after the first generation they introduced Firewire ports. And i think the Airport expansion slot was also introduced in later models if not the first.
Got a 400mhz blue G3 iMac which i upgraded the ram to 384mb, put tiger on, and changed over the old noisy 10gb Maxtor drive for a newer 40gb one. Used it mostly to run old games and console emulators. Completed Silent Hill 1 in connectix virtual game station under OS 9 with a USB gamepad.

Re: The iMac turns 10 today
Apple is a rotten fruit from the bible. The apple means that the brains of Steve Jobs are all fucked up all over. And apple is all made of fucking perverts homos and bitches, who are unable to do shit without fucking each other in the ass.
As the matter of fact only assholes, bitches and homos do like apple.
Becouse it remembers them how badly they were fucked up in the ass by their homo dad & bitch mom.
