A little advice
Hi all, I cannot believe I am about to do this and actually post here. So, here goes : My boyfriend posts here regularly and in moments of heated arguments he tells me to find a neutral party in attempts to try to prove my point wrong. I am finally taking up on his advice.
The problem, we live far apart from one another and have for four years now, seeing each other once a month. The issue is the fact that he has no problem going out the the bar with his male friends. Although, when it comes time for me to do the same, there is always some issue, i.e. I live in a bigger town, I have more things to do, he does not like my friend (female) I will be going with, etc. I am usually threatened with the relationship if I go out and do anything, so I refrain. Well, quite frankly I am tired of the double standard and refraining. Breaking up with him is not an option, I would just like some advice on how to go about this and be able to go out and enjoy myself once in a while without the drama of an afternoon of ABC soaps.
Thanks for your time

Re: A little advice
What the fuck? If you don't want to be controlled then don't let him control you. If you don't stand up for yourself now it'll just make it harder to later. Go out and have fun. Get drunk with your girlfriends.
Also, what is his screen name? This way we can flame him for being a shitty boyfriend and for being lame enough to have a long distance relationship.

Re: A little advice
It seems like he doesn't trust you. He KNOWS that he can go to a club and not hook up with any biddys. However, he questions you loyalty to the relationship. Why would he not trust you? Have you cheated in the past?

Well, this has been going on for 4 years now. I usually just save the time I go out to when he is with me.
I will let you all guess his screen name and it seems to me he can get flamed all the same on his own.. Hey, I am in this long distance relationship as well

LOL, I just have a feeling he likes you. BTW, he is the one who has kissed/been kissed by someone else while out at the club, not me. I have no idea why he would not trust me, I have never cheated on him, nor would I ever, he is my one and only. Have I cheated in the past, yes, on him, NEVER. I respect him and myself too much for that.

Well then, males will always be protective. Why do you think fathers dont like thier daughters boyfriends. Maybe it's because he loves you? Maybe it's a good thing that he wants the relationship to last and not end with you drunkenly fucking some homeless guy. I think you should prove your loyalty to the relationship. I don't know you so I dont know how you should go about doing this but make it good.

Re: A little advice
Tell him you can go out with your friends if you want to. Go out without telling him or something. Have fun, have a good time. Let him know later if you want, but don't let him control you. I was in a relationship like that and it really seemed like no big thing, but slowly he started controlling more and more things. It ended up really bad. It'll happen to you too if you don't stand up for yourself early on.

Wow. I cannot believe how much you sound just like him. But anyways, you are missing the point, I am not the one who fucked up, so to speak, he is. I do not feel I should have to prove loyalty to him or the relationship. That would be in the day to day thing. Oh, fathers don't like their daughters bf's cause they know exactly what they are thinking.

He has already pulled the whole going out with his friends and not telling me till later on. Now, keep in mind this man made a promise me to never go to a bar again after the whole "kissing" incident. I never made such promise.
