Default So today I applied at the following places...

Today I drove to the city where I attend college, 2 hours away FYI, for an interview. I move into my house next week sometime but came up early for the interview and to apply for other jobs. My hand is literally dead after the seriously 15-20 applications I handed in today. If I don't get a job from one of those apps, I give up on life.

Dog Day Care Place (where the interview was)
Phone-relay center (Place where you relay peoples phone conversations into text for hard of hearing people)
George Webbs x2 (Like a dennys)
Jimmy Johns x2
Cousins Subs x2
Subway
Quiznos
Blockbuster Video x2
Pizza Hut
Local Pizza place x2
Applebees
Game Stop
Restaurant downtown x3
Starbucks
Papa Johns

That's 22 applications I've handed in so far, with one (the dog day care) giving me an interview already and one calling me back already to set up an interview (Pizza Hut). If I don't get a job from all of those (Took 6 hours total to go to all these places fill them out and hand them in) that I did, then I give up on life.

I'll probably fill out more at places I missed too once I move into the city early next week. Over-doing it? I need a fucking job for at least 5 months so I could care less what it is. Anything but fast food... those sub places don't count.

The only shitty part is my previous job experience. While I did work at this job over 2 years, then come back this summer and work (after freshman year of college) for 3 months (which would look good on an app, the longevity of my previous job and the fact that they rehired me) is that the only reason my old job hired me back this summer was because I told them I wasn't going to be there only for the summer. So I'm quitting without putting in a 2 weeks notice, I'm just going to stop going after friday to avoid conflict and move over the weekend. Think that's enough to stop most of the above places from hiring me?

Maaan, I wish I had 22 places to apply to here. But a Walgreens is almost done being constructed. Whoo Hoo.

But I do wish you luck on getting a job.

When I was looking for work I applied at 37 places. Guess how many got back to me? Just one, Pizza Hut, and I got the job. Getting a job at Pizza Hut is pretty easy. You've already got an interview there, so you'll probably be hired. And don't tell them about your previous job if you think it'd hinder your application.

Walgreens isn't to great of a job. Where do you live? I'm helping put together a new store in my town. Putting up 2000 shelves on the walls = not fun.

Of all those places I would say the Sit-Down restaurants are your best bet in terms of least amount of work for the most pay. And most of you money will be tips which is convenient. The phone relay place would probably be pretty easy job as well, and so would Game stop and blockbuster I know people who work there and they are lazy pieces of shit and still don't get fired. DONT work at Starbucks, bunch of annoying faggots shop there and everyone is really fucking particular with there drinks, unless your one of those people (don't care if you are) this will get annoying.

Happy Hunting.

Lol I forgot that it was 23 applications I handed in, not 22. I forgot Culvers. It's a burger place, but a clean one. Technically fast food but the burgers are made fresh to order so it's not as gross as other places.

Anyways, I'm up to 3 interviews total now from all of those applications. One has already been done (the dog day care), and I have 2 waiting... Pizza Hut and this bar/grill downtown as a server. I'm hoping for more interviews then this too.

I worked for Walgreens for 2 years, wasn't the best job but it was more than tolerable. The people I worked with were all cool so that helped. Working the front counter sucks major dick. After a year of that shit I said fuck it, I was too young for photo at the time so I convinced my manager to let me fill in the extra spot the needed in cosmetics(I'm a guy.) So I was a Beauty Advisor for 3 months until I turned 18 for photo. Working in cosmetics was actually pretty good, no one expected much from me over there, but I usually had the most sales when I worked out of the other shifts so it made me look really good. Photo was tits though, I got to control break times, I got develop some rolls of film with hot naked chicks on them, and I got to play psp in the cooler, while I was "stocking milk."

If you get the phone relay job, you're going to have to read a bunch of sex stuff for kids playing jokes on their friends. That may be a plus or minus for you, but I just wanted to make you aware.

Good luck in your job search. With all those applications out there you're bound to get something. If you're worried about that job looking bad on your record, keep in mind your former employer isn't supposed to say why you left. They can only give out the dates of employment. That doesn't mean some of them won't bend the rules but normally they won't.

You don't have to give two weeks notice to your employer, it's just a courtesy. But why would you just ditch? Grow a pair and tell them you're leaving. If they are rude about it, walk out. *shrugs* Otherwise, you just look like you can't handle being an adult.

Potential employers cannot get any information about you from your previous employers other than that you were employed, and weren't fired. Beyond that, anything they say is violation your privacy. I only mention this because I presume you included your current employer under the Work History section of your applications.

Good luck!
