so im visiting the Philippines for a little while, and was thinking about getting a few butterfly knives there, sinse thats where they were invented and i could prolly find some high quality knives there for cheap. anyway. how could i bring it back legally or illegally?

yea i was looking at that, as a last resort cause i didnt wanna wait plus the expenses of mailing overseas. anyone else have ideas?

not sure what your laws are but there are tons of american sites that sell butterfly knives everything from a couple bucks a piece to 100s of dollars for very high quality ones.

Yeah I love Butterfly Knives, i own quite a few. I take it you flew there? Or a cruise ship? Mailing it to your self is a real safe bet.

Mailing is pretty much your only option with how TSA is these days.

you can get butterfly knives in the us, hence not illegal, so why not just put them in the checked luggage? im a chef and i always take my knife roll with me, just cant be in you carry on...

Not sure about the US, but my friend bought some illegal weapons into NZ, he just put them in his suitcase standing upright, so I presume the X-ray goes down and sees a small surface area of metal, rather than a blade lying down.

If they're not illegal, then don't worry about it, just don't put it in your carry on baggage.

I know that you can *legally* import a tazer into Australia by disassembling it - the parts of a tazer themselves are not illegal, if your questioned about it then your going to have a tough time explaining whats up... but theres no law about carrying small bits of electronics.

Like carrying a rifle butt through customs in your checked luggage is allowed but not encouraged, find a knife that disassembles easily and do it that way.

I'm sneeking a butterfly knife i just got in israel to the us in a week. As long as it's in the l;uggage they wont give a shit, I do it every visit, and this time I'm bringing knives, hookahs, bongs, dutches and alcohol. same thing I do every trip
