I was watching the Olympic Opening today, and i'am hear listening to how everything is being played. China is doing all these amazing performances,but at the same time there displaying there power in numbers and how disciplined they are while in unison. What do you think? Do you think its innocent, or a ploy to show power? In the end will China be more open? Or take two steps back?

I know what you're talking about. The opening ceremony. And every time a totalitarian regime hosts the Olympics they try to show off their discipline, and strength and whatnot.

Your missing the point its not about the "game" during the beginning they were displaying there military power using metaphors in the game. Such as the dumbs represented there unity as one and power in numbers. There display of electronics and technology was clearly strong. You'd have to watch it to get the full effect. Attention to detail.

I thought some of the drumming did look a little militaristic, but I think it's innocent.
