I've just watched an episode of intervention, where the girl was cutting herself. Does anyone on totse have any experience doing that? I'd just like to know why you feel the need to cut yourself? Where on the body you cut? And what do you use?

As a teenager on the arms, torso, once or twice on the face.

Reasons? Endorphins, yes, and the sense of time dilation that comes with slowly inflicting pain on myself. And in my case self-mutiliation was a punishment for failure to achieve goals which I had set myself. I soon stopped when I realized my actions were pre-empting failure, as I enjoyed pain sufficiently that there was no negative feedback associated with the 'punishment', quite the opposite in fact.

What type of goals did you set for yourself at that age, that justified self mutilation if failed? When I think back to life as teenage I really didn't have any real goals.

It's not a forum filled with psychiatrists (I'm sure there's one or two..), it's a forum filled with people who are fucked in the head. We know only that we're fucked in the head, not why, not how, and not about the mind in depth.

Anyway, I used to cut when I was in middle school. Half for attention, half because I truly did not know what else to do. Then in high school, I cut solely because I just did not know how to handle stress and depression, etc. I used to cut on the arms or on the tops of my hands with a razor or just plain scratch myself repeatedly on the same location. God, I was so retarded...
