Completley false. Part of the Tax Stamp system was that you needed to have marijuana in your possession when you bought the stamp. But weed is illegal without the stamp. So its impossible to legally get a stamp. Timothy Leary got arressted for possesion(he took the hit for his daughter) but got off because he argued the tax stamp law was unconstitutional because it required you to self incriminate yourself. And that is against the 5th amendment.

Drug Stamps are such a joke. IIRC one state even charged less for "stems only" stamps.

There are some sick stamps out there. I think it was like texas that has a skull and cross bones made of a joint and a needle dripping with H as the cross bones.

In order to get the stamp, you must have pot, but if you show them pot, they will arrest you. You cannot get the stamps. I believe it works the same for automatic weapons.

i think the tax stamp was how the goverment used to try and control drugs when they were trying to find a loop hole to make it ileagle. They started doing like in the early 1900 after there was a simaler tax stamp for automatic weopons. In the sixtys ken kesey or one of the acid guys (dont realy remember who) won a cort case that decided it was ileagle becouse you cant have the drug leagly with out the stamp but u cant have the stamp with out the drug. So for a day or 2 the drugs were leagle. This is whan or new and improved drug laws started to hit the books.

Nah I didn't try it exactly like that.My friend and I had this "social experiment" two years ago where we went to a pay phone, and called the drug stamp place. I called up pretending like I thought that buying the stamps would make my 50 lbs of weed legal(also pretended that I "did my research"). The clerk said that it wasn't legal, and I told him this story about how I got 50lbs of pot thinking that it was legal, but it wasn't, and that I wanted a refund on the $2000 worth of drug stamps that I bought. He asked me what I was going to do with the weed and I like told him "WTF do you think im going to do with fucking 50lbs of weed. I'm gettin high nigga*".
They had cops at that pay phone right quick man. We watched them inspect this empty payphone booth with absoultly nothing in it(cept for a phone) for about 30 minutes before they left.
