Default Tussionex and Tramadol

I just recently got ahold of some tussionex cough syrup, which is an extended release formula and contains 10mg hydrocodone plus 8mg chlorpheniramine maleate per 5ml.

I looked up the chlorpheniramine maleate to see how much i could safely ingest and discovered that it is actually considered to be somewhat of an SSRI.

So what I'm wondering is, would combining tramadol (which is either an SSRI or an SNRI, i forgot) with this tussionex syrup be at all likely to cause seratonin syndrome?

How much do yo plan on taking? You can combine low levels of CMP with tramadol, but since the syrup contains hydrocodone, I doubt that is the case

Although I doubt you are, if you are planning on abusing the cough syrup for uses of DXM, which you didn't specify if it contains that, I know, then def do not take tramadol with it...

However, If you only took the cough syrup as it is intended to be taken, you can, combine tramadol, but don't make a habit of it

nope. just the hydrocodone.

well i have no tolerance to the hydro at all so i was thinking probly only 15 or 20 ml so 24 or 32 mg of CPM. plus its extended release, idk if that makes a difference.

my tolerance for tramadol should also be pretty low right now too

Well the hydro and tramadol would be a nice combo, but that amount of CPM ALONE is a bad idea, it raises the heart rate like a mother fucker, that's the whole thing behind not taking CCC's, so I have to advise against it

I'm a young, healthy individual. I think my body can handle it.

I myself have never tried CCC's, but I know several people who have and theyve taken much larger amounts of CPM and been fine.

32mg extended release shouldnt be that bad.

Well I can't stop you from doing it, anyway 99% chance you'll be fine, and have a good time, but there is a chance for things to go wrong, and fucking with your heart is never a good idea. So enjoy, but when your heart is pounding, think of me, shit that came out really gay...haha

just stick to one or the other. you said it best yourself your tolerance is low, which tolerance is what leads you to mix and matching, especially when it comes to opiates...

although, tramadol hardly is an opiate.

Doesn't matter how healthy you are or how much your friend took. I'm fairly certain that the reason people die from it is because of a lack of enzyme or allergic reaction.

Don't take advice from Acolytes without double-checking.

Sorry, Chem_Love, you seem decent, but you just haven't had time to prove yourself. I'm sure you understand, considering the average intelligence of anybody on BLTC, let alone someone who hasn't been here long.

It's okay I understand

And while I may not have all the info, I told him not to take it, so at least I feel I gave good advice in this case

It might as well be though from what I understand. Though I've never used it so I can't compare glows or anything.

It's great to see you as mod btw, and why don't you just save one of the opiates/opiate analogue for another night? Double the fun from what I can see.

CPM is an antihistamine, not an SSRI.
