Solace
Solace
Amazed by all these wondrous scenes
I gaze across this field of dreams
My heart beholds the grief unseen
Deep chasms filled with want and need
The desperate souls who might have been
Alive and free and young
For creatures lurk among the trees
I feel their shadows close to me
They sing their songs of sympathy
A loathsome dead cacophony
Cruel laughter madness borne
With sobbing edged by scorn
Like dark clouds on a dark night
Chasing black stars in a black sky
With worn dreams in a worn heart
Over torn sails on a tired sea
And yet the Light keeps shining brighter
Ever brighter each new morn'
Until the One belongs the Fight
Then fear at last the coming Storm

Hijack : BLISS thru the LIST
Bliss thru the list...
A very wise old man once said ignorance is bliss,
for thru ignorance can one achieve peace...
And God bless vB's workin' ignore list;
for it, it hath filtered out Spricktral's feces...
You can moan and you can bitch,...
you can even type a post full of shits,
But in the end, it won't matter, bitch,
Cos,...cos all I see, all I see is this :

Too hard to follow. Made either me or you feel like a braindead invalid, but I don't know which.

Re: Solace
His moderation does seem fairly lacklustre, not to offend you in any way King. I'm sure you're very busy with much much more important things.

Re: Solace
Moon Girl
Moon so bright with endless sight
I wonder what you see tonight
The kings and meek, great and lost
Sail crimson seas of dreams and hopes
Spent waves that break upon the shoal
Upon drift captives stripped of soul
And have you grief when you look down
To dim the glory of your crown
Look there does sadness plenty pour
Both great and small soon nevermore
Grey pools of wine to fill their cups
Brought forth with roses turned to brown
Grey mornings greet the bell toll sound
And have you love when you gaze up
To light your lamp a blazing white
Those hearts like jewels pure and bright
Their eyes turn fiery fill the night
I wonder if you see my face
As I look up to you in space
We share that often restless place
Beyond this land called home

Re: Solace
The Way
Caught amid the flames of youth
Trapped inside the pain of truth
Speeding on toward the proof
And stand or fall we must
A mirror formed of marble black
Within we see our shrouded face
That darkened part we know so well
Grins back with wholesome, sinless grace
Invites us come explore a place
And sleep or wake we must
Tall trees tell news the mass ignore
A world of gold now turned to rust
Few bold stand firm upon the field
Choose independence lost in trust
In deeds of love their offspring must
Grow grapes of riches sown in dust
The Storm approaches
Rain to cleanse our hearts

Re: Solace
Within and Without
The howl of the wind sounds a yearnful song
It calls to me and to you, my friend
We're caught in the tide and then led out to sea
While the doorway fades, ever closed at the end
The damned and the blind
Try to slay humankind
The Storm ever flows from the black, my friend
Wide is that path and it's filled 'round the bend
Cold waves on the seas in the hearts of men
The eye within and without
It looks this way and about
Through darkened mist of doubt there
To look but not to see
Between the tall trees
The Wind stirs the leaves
And who knows where It's going
But there in our heart lie the wage of our art
The field in which we are sowing

Re: Solace
You have a very good grasp of words; although I don't normally read poetry it is obvious you have some real talent.
Very romantic, but not too convoluted or repetitious.

Why, thank-you! I actually got these published in a collective works of poetry in 1998.
