I'm wondering what it'd be lilke dying from taking MDMA?

I appreciate most 'MDMA deaths' arent actually caused from taking MDMA, that other drugs are often involved (but not always - deaths have ocurred in infants who have taken mdma only)... but usually a hefty dose of MDMA is taken too to cause serotonin syndrome, toxic levels of water retention, muscle breakdown (called rhia.. something or other cant remember).

Would the victim be tripping their balls off having a great time and then drop dead? Or would it be a nightmare experience all the way through?

I'd find out myself but obviously dont want to die. Has anyone seen somebody who had od'd on MDMA?

I believe it would be quite unpleasant.

I imagine severe dehydration leading to a terrible fever. Cold sweats. Racing heart -- which would probably be the cause of death. Too much heart stress.

'Overdose' on LSD would probably be much more "interesting."

Entirely this. The closest I've come to an OD involved too much dihydrocodeine at once, and me collapsing and passing out three times, each time being awoken from the brink of consciousness by my friend slapping my completely numb face, after I apparently spasmed and had my eyes roll back into my skull...

The adrenaline and panicking thing is quite right too; the only time I felt my heart beat at anything other than a weak sluggish thump was when I sat up after waking up outside a house, with no idea where I was.

That is, of course, entirely nothing to do with the thread, what's been said is to my knowledge entirely correct - MDMA has a very, very low toxicity, especially in relation to its active dose. 99% of the time, OD's are brought about by contraindications or whatever else was in the pills they took.

After seeing someone having a seizure on the floor right in front of me this weekend I would not imagine that death by MDMA would be in any way enjoyable.

i popped 430mg of adderall, and for the first time in my life went to my parents for help, so I'm guessing it would be close to how i felt when i thought was going into cardiac arrest, fucking all out mortifying, anyone is ignorant and crazy if they think the actual thought of dieing isn't that bad.

I've gone into convulsions while on a lot of very potent pills,it wasn't very fun. it was like being locked in a pitch black room while i was fighting something that wasn't even there.

And as stated before, your chances from oding on MDMA is few and far between. Unless your snorting/parachuting molly like theres no tomorrow, you shouldnt have a problem unless you way overdue it or your stupid enough to let your body dehydrate/overheat. When I overdosed on MDMA, after consuming almost a gram of molly, I went into a Grand Maul Seizure.

I arched my back so far that it shattered my invertebrate. I had to wear a cast around my stomach.

My heart also felt as if it was about to jump out my chest as every breath I took seemed to be full of pins and needles.

Opiates, on the other hand..

Hazey overdosed on MDMA if I remember correctly. He walked around in circles in a room while having random seizures for hours. Doesn't sound that fun.

I've had too much MDMA before (pure crystal, not pills or anything, so it was the mandy and nothing else that brought on the effects) and that's unpleasant enough, it wasn't an overdose but it was way above my comfort zone. I panicked hugely, instant overheating from a comfortable temperature to thinking I was going to pass out through heat, my heart rate felt like it tripled, I couldn't focus on anything. Got my head together enough to go and lie on my back in the rain, which did the trick after five minutes of the most horrible rush of my life (quite apart from how shitty I felt, rushing during a freezing-cold rainstorm is strange). That was my own stupid fault anyway, I was buzzing hugely anyway and had been doing lines, and had the e-tarded thought that my last line (~2 minutes ago) wasn't big enough and that I should have a bigger one. I'd never in my life want to actually overdose on it.

Incidentally, I once saw a guy fall to the floor and start convulsing during a festival, at least 90% of people in this tent must have been on E and there was a momentary collective "oh shit what the fuck" moment 'til everyone found out he'd just had a massive hit of nos and it knocked him flat on his back, he was laughing but it looked like a seizure.

Last weekend I fell asleep about an hour after peaking pretty hard on about 200mg and was still rolling pretty strongly when I fell asleep. Strangely I did manage to chew three holes in a rubber air bed whilst I was asleep...

Not as cool as when I was in the psych ward, when I went into a Darth Maul Seizure which required five IM injections of haldol and ativan throughout the course of the day. Christ, I don't even know how I was still standing after #4. That's about 10mg Ativan and 20mg Haldol altogether. And I don't even take benzo's or anything but weed. If you can do enough MDMA that you can sleep while buzzing, I don't want to get there.

I go up to raves like every single weekend. Every single saturday night, someone at an events does too much of something. It's not a fun thing to see someone start to wobble around, fall down, and start having a seizure. It's breath-taking, but in a bad way.

I have wondered the same thing as the OP, but I don't really want to ever have to go through what those people are dealing with.

Now, I'm not being a hypocrite at all here, but I do have a decent opinion on the topic. All you need to remember is this word: MODERATION. Don't see "how fucked up" you can get by taking more than you KNOW you can handle to see what the experience is like. When I want to roll, I take one or two pills, 5 being the most i've ever done. Another problem is people buying the drugs are the most oblivious to what they're actually putting in their bodies. Most people into E don't care what kind of cut is in their pills. They're just e pills........

Now, I do know that there are people out there (such as myself) who actually do take their own health and safety into regard and DO test their pills, or at least get them from a trusted source who isn't going to pull any bullshit or tell you misleading information.
That's not the majority though.

People are going to abuse every substance out there, that's a given, and there will ALWAYS be people pushing shit past it's limits. You can't say much against that. BUT, you can help people get educated so they have better information, leading to better judgements (hopefully). This is the case with me. I go to raves, and my main purpose for being there is to sell beans. I do get SO much pleasure from them, but when it comes down to it, it's business. Whenever I sell anyone there anything, I sit down with them and talk to them. Tell them what's in the pills. Tell them how the roll will be. Most importantly, I tell every single person to be safe. You should all do the same.

Oh and btw, with pure MDMA, the roll should last a good 4-5 hours (sometimes longer), and you should be able to sleep that night and eat fine the next day. You'll still be a little drained, but you won't have nearly as bad a comedown as you would if you take pills with unknown substances in them.
