Default Some stuff that happened today at Target

So today at Target we had a guy try to shoplift a cart full of LCD flat screen TV's. Not sure how the guy (hispanic) get a cart full of boxed TV's since they are kept locked in the back room and a team member gets them out. AP evidently saw the guy tho becuase one AP came running out of the office asking "Did you see a hispanic guy running down this way with a cart full of electronics?" When I said no he said Oh shit! and ran towards the exit. The hispano-hablante sees 4 red-shirts running at him, takes a tv in each hand and runs out the doors, leaving the cart behind. Cops are alerted. from what i heard of the cop's conversation, the guy ran towards another store parking lot, and there were 5 different cars he could have gotten into (only 2 cameras covering the parking lot, none looking at other stores so they are unlikely to catch the guy. Cops are watching local pawn shops.
Upon asking the store team leader, he hesitated for a moment before saying "I have no idea why there are cops here"

So thats what happened, just thought you all would like to know. Maybe it will assist you in making some sort of plans.

Yay for the wetback! I hope he doesn't get caught. Target is a bitch to steal from anyway, at least that's how it is at the Target in my town.

Any idea how he got them from the back? I'm only asking out of general curiosity of course...

Dress up in a Red shirt polo, and khaki pants. Voila` You are now a target employee.

The code to enter behind the service desk is the store number, most--if not all passwords will be the store number.

true on the clothing part, but the perp was not wearing anything of the sort.

What the hell code are you talking about? to log on to the registers, its the team memebr # and then a PIN only the tm knows. THe TV's and other electronics merchandise are in a separate stockroom nearby electronics dept. THe doors is always locked and there are cameras in there.

The key that opens that door is the same key that opens the locked display cases.

Well, some Targets have a keypad to enter some rooms, I was referring that as the store number. The cash register is completely different usually an IBM POS system. POS = Point of Sale, not the other def.

But, I'm curious..how many digits is the pin to log onto the cash register? I always knoew about Tm# = log onto the register.

Also, you could cheat and just use an IBM POS master key, they exist that's only if it's an Older style--not newer.

That guy has it made because the best way to do it is to not have an ID (aka be illegal) recognizable by the US.

Ahh yes some rooms do have keypads. BUt not electronics stockroom. Here anyways. To long onto register, its an 8 digit TM # and 4 digit pin. If the TM # is less than 8 digits then zeros are added in front.

Unhappy Re: Some stuff that happened today at Target

i call bullshit... exactly how tiny were these tv's? you said they keep them in the back which would indicate boxed ones as the display ones are the only unboxed ones and are... wait for it... on display!

boxes for lcds are fucking huge... youd fit ONE in a shopping cart... the only way this would be believable is if he was stealing < 20" screens...

I sure wouldn't be able to put one of those under each arm, I mean that messican working as a day laborer sure wouldn't have the strength to put one under each arm and run the fuck out of there.
