So last night i took 2 of the most potent blotters ive ever taken, and the thought occurred to me that with watching the ceiling form impossibly complex geometric patterns and seeing my hand turn into little more than bone covered in skin with shit crawling through my veins that i have never seen the true tip of the iceburg as far as the psychedelic effects of lsd go. im kind of curious to experience ego death on acid, for those of you who have been there, generally how many hits does it take to reach?

im sure some will say the amounts really dont matter, its all in the mindset.

Takes about 5 grams of mushrooms or 6 hits of acid for me. You could be in a room with all your closest family members and not treat them any differently than a vagrant who walked in off the street. Everything becomes a part of the experience of the moment, and nothing in your past or future will make a difference, nor will you even care about a past or future. One time this effect was so strong that I felt I could stop time entirely and control it. Everyone around me appeared to be going backwards, talking backwards, and I couldn't read anything because it was all backwards. I was getting younger and younger... but it was really just experiencing the loss of ego and living in the moment. Fun stuff.

I figured out my limits by slowly increasing dosage each time I felt comfortable with the previous experience... suggest you do the same instead of leaping into it.

Even on one hit, I've experienced a very slight dissassociation from my ego. While dosing, if am leaning against a wall, I have a pleasant "melting" sensation, as though my body is seeping into the bricks. I've also seen visuals of my hand becoming clicking, whirring, shifting gears, constantly disassembling and reassembling. LSD showed me that there are no actual boundaries between any sort of matter.

I can still get good acid, although I hear a lot of people can't. It usually takes about 2+ to get a full on reality ripped away type of trip, but even then its not a guarentee you'll experiance ego death- although I have at those doses.

Less then that, the experiances isn't as gripping and in your face, but in the right mindset it can get just as deep. Like you said in your own post, mindset has a lot to do with it, but i'd recommend a dose of at least 500 micrograms, if not more if you're looking for a really intense experiance.

I actully have a 3 tab trip planned for this weekend, just to throw that in there- fucking pumped.

I've had hundreds of trips where I took 3 to 15 hits of good 80's acid [150 to 250mics per] and I even took 65 hits one night.

But never have I experienced ego death.

Unless you define it different than I do.

I've had points in time where myself and who I was weren't dead but where they should be.

My first mushroom trip on about 6 grams was the only time it happened. Never on anything else. Maybe like meta, I define it differently then you but that's the only thing I can think of.

I became perfectly in sync with the universe(by that I mean everything) and knew exactly where I should be. It's not so much that my ego was dead, but just meaningless like everything else. That led me to start thinking about how my ego was my self worth, and my consideration of myself. Self-awareness I suppose. Since it's my self-awareness and is meaningless on a grand scape then I decided it was up to me to make the meaning of my ego. So I guess I probly don't know what you're talking about as I realize that then was when I really started allowing my ego to live and started to define myself as I sought.

If you're trying to achieve a point where you're not aware of yourself, that's death man. I don't think it can happen.. nvm, what about being blacked out drunk? Or a ton of dissociatives maybe? Actually, then all you COULD think about was yourself.

I've never blacked out drunk, is it forgetting you exist? Or forgetting the external world exists?

LSD + DMT will do it damn near every time. Mushrooms + DMT will also work, and I'd imagine that mescaline + DMT would do the same.

well whan i trip i get what i call ego death were i have an overwellming feeling that i am not you know my self walking on earth but i am part of something much larger or that its all in my head and every thing i see, touch, hear,smell, tast is all just some fnatastic idea. Kinda like im just part of a big dream. Veery strange whan i am with people. From my mind to my hands my hands to my mind i can create any thing i can imagen in some way.
