Default 2ms vs 5ms monitors.

First let me say, I found the problem with my computer, it was a stick ram that was faulty, not the mobo.

Is there a noticeable difference between 2ms and 5ms LCD screen when playing games, because I was going to get a 22" Asus VK222U but when I was in the store the salesman told me that there was no noticeable difference once the ms got below about 10ms, this store has been wrong about some information they have given me before so I decided to come ask the glorious community of Totse what they know about this.

If you plan on playing very high def games/dvds with high frame rates, then possibly, but otherwise not. Keep in mind that not all companies measure it equally, some take the time between black and white, some take it between gray and another color. My preferred brand is samsung, I have a 2ms from them.

Meh it's not such a huge difference that you need to go out of your way to get a 2ms monitor. For me i wouldn't buy a 2ms monitor if a 5ms monitor is 100$ cheaper because i couldn't justify the price.

Unless you get one for free, like I did.

A high frame rate game would be Crysis and the such?

No, a High resolution game would be Crysis (And that only applies if your monitor can support the resolution). The Frame rate doesn't matter.

I have a 5ms monitor (not sure, but probably gray-gray) and I game just fine.

Actually, I picked up a sweet deal, two Acer X223Ws for about 400 bucks. They were refurbished but had a 3 year warranty so I figured why not. Probably one of my better decisions. Like all LCDs I have to set the brightness and contrast almost to zero when viewing though, I hate the light.
