Last night, I realized that my home made bong is magical. Enough people have done it and I have smoked out of enough stuff to know something isn't right.

Heres how it goes.

A friend of mine smokes out of a guys awesome new bong with some amazing weed. Takes like 7 hits packs 2 bowls smokes it up. He was high. He comes over to my house. We pack up my socket wrench thing with literally like 1/10th of what he smoked, and he takes one hit, and is higher than he has ever been. He is fucking I thought maybe its my weed.

Well last night I went to pineapple express with a friend from work whose from California. I took my weed and we packed 2 giant bowls and passed it around between me and him and my girlfriend. I take about 4 massive hits. He takes like 8 since he has higher tolerance. I think I'm going to get INSANELY baked since we packed in about 10x as much as I normally smoke out of my little bong. And sure enough, I got high, but it was very very different. Way more subtle. My eyes weren't even that red.

Okay, so then I go home, and pack a tiny tiny tiny bit into my home made waterfall bong, and my eyes get dark dark red, I'm in a whole nother world, with just a fraction of the weed that we smoked before.

What the FUCK does that mean? Why would such a tiny bit get me fucking belligerent and destroyed on my homemade bong, but fucking half of my nug didn't get me that high on his pipe? Even more confusing, he said he was pretty high, but does that mean he has alot different experiences with me being high? Because he hasn't smoked on my bong?

See, its the next day since I smoked out of my bong and I'm STILL feeling somewhat high. My senses are still heightened 11 some hours later. And I can tell by the way I'm typing this post.

Because bongs are waaaay better than pipes. Pipes are the worst way to smoke - hurts your lungs the most and gets you the least high. In fact I refuse to smoke pipes because my tolerance is too high and I can smoke one all day and not get a good high like you get from a bong. It doesn't matter that your bong is homemade - a bong is pretty much a bong unless you have like a scientifically engineered roor or phx. People that have like 4 foot nice glass bongs are fucking retarded. IMO the size of the bong does not affect the high. People who talk about bong sizes and shit getting them higher are usually retards.

In conclusion, don't smoke from a pipe unless you have no other choice. You should buy a small water pipe and just leave it you/your friends car.

Was it the same weed? Had he smoked earlier that day? Also the dealers bong might not have been setup properly, i.e. not air tight, not pulling properly, not enough water, clogged bowl, etc. Also waterfall bongs are different the glass bongs. Waterfall bong probably gets you higher since its closer to a grav bong but I haven't hit a waterfall bong in years so I don't know. Also how red your eyes get really means nothing. Sometimes your eyes get really red and you aren't that high and vice-versa.

No, it was different weed. But the weed my friend smoked was supposedly better than mine. It was KB, the most popular shit around here, and mine was some dry unknown hybrid shit. I'm sure he did it right, as the dealer who my friend did it with is pretty fucking particular about his smoking habits.

Either way the tiny tiny tiny amount I use still shouldn't get me so much higher than smoking tons and tons of weed. I'm talking filling up a little tiny socket the size of an eraser head up with weed and getting torn up, and smoking half of a nugget and getting just mildley high.

It's the waterfall. I know exactly what you're talking about. Waterfalls/gravity bongs get you fucking high as hell off a tiny amount. They're much more efficient than just a regular bong. I used to smoke out of one for years until I got a vaporizer.

Simple. Bongs and pipes that your friends have are brought from a store and made with glass. Your home made one is made from products around the "home" and are probably giving off horrible smoke when lit. You are getting "higher" because with every hit you are coming closer and closer to dieing.

I'd have to disagree with the whole "better high from bongs" thing. It is definitely better to smoke from a bong for me simply because I like inhaling water-cooled smoke, you take huge hits and don't get that irritation in the throat I experience from my glass bowl. But, I love my little glass bowl. I love the high from pipes, even if it is harsher. I'm buying one of those Gandalf-style long stemmed glass bowls from the headshop pretty soon, which should cool the smoke a little more and make it even nicer, I'm hoping.

I very very very rarely smoke joints...I actually would say I feel less high from a J than from a good old bowl, and it's constantly burning/uses more weed. I've never smoked a blunt in my 2+ years of smoking, and don't really intend to, either. I HAVE vaporized from a decent lightbulb vape of my friends, but that gives me a distinctly weird high that I don't really like. It's nice to save weed though.

red eyes are not an indicaton of "highness", only dehydration. Maybe it's psychological. Maybe, bongs get you higher because you inhale more smoke than from a pipe. Maybe, it's the leprechauns. Your "socket wrench"-bowled bong could probably be much improved, however, a ghetto/shitty bong is better than a ghetto/shitty pipe. Hence, the "magic" you refer to.

I've been advocating waterfall bongs for years now... they are truly magical devices. The difference is, with a waterfall there is NO filtration at all, it just goes through the screen, then the socket, and into the bottle and sits on top of the water. Where as with a bong, the smoke gets pulled through the water, shedding off a lot of the carcinogens and other things that make your eyes red, give you a different high, etc...

Don't get me wrong, I have both... and a pipe, gravity bong, a lung (waterfall with a bag instead of water), a jar-bong that I nigger-rigged together that works suprisingly well, and a handful of different kinds of steam-rollers ranging from a toilet paper tube with tin foil to a very nice 24 karat gold infused glass steamroller that an ancient (and I mean ancient) hippy gave me at a concert.

That guy was so old I was surprised that he could even smoke weed without having a stroke...

Anyways, I'm baked (off my waterfall no less), and I'm rambling.

I think it works the same way soap removes oil from your skin.

THC may not be very water soluble, but the tars in the smoke seem to be ... and THC seems to 'stick' to those tars, and remain in the water.

If you were to smoke pure thc through a bong, some would still be lost in the water and other parts. It's not the solubility that makes the thc get lost in the water.

It's because when you have a hot vapor like thc vapor when you smoke, it comes into contact with the water and as it cools it becomes sticky and eventually solids mixed with tar or whatever else. A sticky mess isn't going to continue passing through the water into your lungs, because it's no longer a vapor.

lets see some link here. im 100% that throwing herb into boiling water is a waste compared to simply smoking or cooking it using something fat soluble. you can make some weed tea with stems and even throw in nugs (i made it with a gram of decent as well as 2 grams of stems) but still, you dont get high. it tastes like weed and makes your apartment smell of weed. but your mind is clear.

Stop smoking shitty weed, that way you don't have to pack so much into the bowl, and therefore it won't get so hot. Also, take your ADHD meds, this will allow you to calmly take smaller hits slowly without lighting the entire bowl in one hit.

I think you are melting the plastic tubing on your bong, or maybe are using a bowlhead made of something you shouldn't be smoking out of (brass?).

Use your mouth to inhale, when it seems like you cant inhale anymore reduce the volume in your mouth by pushing your tongue forward/ closing your jaw and open your lips. The smoke comes out thickly, then you suck it back in. You can do this a few times if you want before you exhale.

If it's windy allowing the smoke to sit in your mouth for a few seconds before inhaling helps, similar to smoking a cigar.
