Wisdom Teeth
So I have to get my wisdom teeth out on the 20th of this month. The thing is, on the 23rd there is an event that for reasons beyond my control (tradition/peer pressure) I will have to consume copious amounts of alcohol. So totse - what kind of alcohol should I be drinking to try and avoid infection? Do anti-biotics or pain meds mix poorly w/ alcohol?
I thought of drinking via a straw to put all the liquor in the back of my throat, but apparently that will 'suck out' the healing over my tooth...so that's out.

Re: Wisdom Teeth
probably not.
depends on the type of pain medication. alcohol will slow you down and some meds umm.....really "slow" you down when mixed with alc.
not sure really, just tell the doc you cant make it due to work commitments....hehe

Re: Wisdom Teeth
stmfu this is a legitimate question...If I just drink beer or vodka or some shit will my mouth get infected? I don't want to be living in a brand new city and try to deal with an infected mouth.

Re: Wisdom Teeth
Don't worry alcohol wont cause infection (my buddy just got his pulled and was drinking that night). You'll probably get something like Vicodin so you'll get pretty tired mixing the two. Btw alcohol will kill germs rubbing alcohol is just more refined rum.

Re: Wisdom Teeth
just drink normally, you'll probably have to drink slower than you usually do if your mouth hurts. Nothing will be infected, and if you are concerned it might become infected, wash out your mouth with the salt solution after drinking. Also, you can't drink with a straw because you'll remove the stitches.

Re: Wisdom Teeth
Fuckin eh, thanks boys. So if I get some shit like Vicodin should I still drink on it? Or should I just not take the pills the day that I plan to be doing heavy drinking.
