Right, so i've been seeing this girl for like.. two months now. I'm 17 shes 16 [16 being the legal age in uk.] and its coming up to my 18th next week.

I'll go ahead and say you have some blame to place on yourself. You should've started talking to her about this stuff and pushing boundaries after the first month. I think she anticipated your birthday wants and it scared her off.
