I'm thinking about buying a bottle of Lucid tonight when I get off from work. What have been your experienced with the Green Fairy?

If you want anise flavored liquor, why not just drink ouza, metaxxa, or sambuca? They are much better.

Some types of aquavit taste very similar to some absinthes, but are much better.

Make sure to burn some sugar in a spoon until it caramelizes and then drop it in the shot. It will make it taste heavenly.

Your not going to be tripping balls or anything. Just hammered. Well maybe if you drink a lot but at that point your really just shit faced.

It's not amazing or anything but it's worth the expeirence.

It tastes cool, but unless you dish for the good stuff (don't just go to your local liquor store, you'll have to dig around) the wormwood effect will be pretty much non-existent.

If you do find some good stuff (the cost will most likely reflect the quality) it'll be worth picking up a good spoon and cup meant for the occasion. There's good videos on line on how to prepare your sugar and such.

Overpriced and overrated. The myth of the "green fairy" seems to be pretty much just that, a myth. I want my $46 back.

It's probably because you only payed 46$ for it. The good shit is ridiculously expensive.

I dunno, my ex brought back a bunch Spanish Absinthe from Amsterdam and it seemed to make me more loopy than normal alcohol. I don't underestimate the power of placebo, but I do recall having weird visual distortions from it.

Though it was a few years ago so I don't remember all that well. What I do remember, is it not taking a lot to get me pretty twisted.

From what I've deduced, you've got to be very discriminate as to where you get it. You can end up with anise-alcohol. I've drank three difference types of Absinthe and the Spanish was by far the most potent as far hallucinogenic effects.
