Post New Info on World of Warcraft and PayPal

Ok so the topic of WoW accounts has been all over this board lately so I'm going to spare the information that most of you already know and skip to te part that I just discovered this morning.

Recently I tried my first WoW Account on Craigslist and discovered the quick response of various people. While sorting through the emails I found one that sounded as if the buyer was younger(from the use of "IM" lingo and smiley faces), so I chose this one to start.

Now after showing the armory link and saying I could help change password/secret Q & A, the buyer said he would be willing to purchase it. Awesome I thought, money in the bank on my first try. Well instead of the usual direct wire to my bank account he insisted that we use paypal so instead of making it suspicious, I just agreed.

After sending the payment of 300 to my account I sent him an email saying it was being "held". Now after this I asked if he could try sending it again, and he DID, but this time from what he called his "friends account", this time from Australia. So now I hold two 300 dollar payments, Im feeling pretty good right about now. Well less than an hour later, the buyer marked both as "Unauthorized", the ultimate fuck you from paypal, they are almost impossible to beat if youre not careful.

Well Knowing the policy of needing signature on delivery for items over 300, I did just that for the one going to USA. As for the other one, it had no verified address and was out of te country so there wasnt much I could do about that.

So now that you have the background, here is the new information.
-This morning I decided to actually call the PayPal service line to see what the status was looking like for both transactions. I told him the same thing, same buer, to accounts, but I said it as for to items so they wouldnt refund one back. The agent said that I did well with handling the USA one and that I will be covered for that one and also that if both purchases from both accounts were found to be the same IP address (which they will be) and since they were both paid for and unauthorized in under an hour that they would most likely find the buyer to be fraudulent(sp?) and refund the other as well.

So moral of the story, if you have some information that you cant get through to PayPal that can favor you, CALL THEM, they almost immediately take your side, and if it looks like a tough situation to them too, they tell you what you need to do to win, its insane.

****If any of this is unclear please just ask, I can easily clarify, and if the letter "W" is missing anywhere, I apologize, my key is half stuck and practically has to be impaled to work****

Not to be rude, but this has been known for a while.

Paypal Rep's on the phone have alot of power, even the power to unlimit accounts within reason.

The only thing is, you can't be calling them up for everytime you have a WoW payment and say "Hey, someone is trying to scam me!" because then they'll close your account because you're high risk.

The best plan is to call them up, and act a bit stupid so they'll feel their superior and then will help you.

Things to know.

If price is over 200$ paypal wants you the seller to make it have signature required on it, if it's international paypal wants you to have a signature on it no matter what ammount.

Insurance is not required, but saying it's insured is a Big plus.

Paypal likes UPS/FedEx, and hates USPS/Royal Mail, if you have a USPS/Royal Mail Tracking number they'll won't like you as much. (A Rep explained to me, that they have to go through much more to get confirmation.) DHL from my experience has been in the middle with them.

Ip address of your account must match the city/state of where your paypal address "is." or must match the original creation IP of your paypal account in location.

500$ Withdrawal limit and 2000$ receiving limit for all new accounts under 60 days, on the 61th day you can apply for a paypal debit card and can receive unlimited and withdraw unlimited funds if you are a verified w/ a bank account and a credit card. (Do not use prepaid AMEX's, they have banned those by the BIN. Vanilla Visa's work the best as of this moment.)

Don't have a bank account? Netspend.com, you'll need a valid SSN but they'll give you a bank account info so you can reg with paypal, and they'll also give you a debit card which can act as credit card to verify a paypal.

Never give paypal your SSN, and when you sign up and it asks "Secret Question--Last 4 digits of your SSN." and if you do give your SSN for some stupid reason, they'll ban it/limit your account if the last 4 digits does not match.

Hmm, I have more info, but this is the first that come in my mind.

Yo Kirby, do simon gift cards and prepaid visas and mastercards you get from WU/moneygram services still work in verification?

Because I was thinking of doing a scam with a fake job position going and it will involve being payed by paypal

Works perfectly for verification.

Though, if you want to get the money out of Paypal, then that could be a bit tricky.

Well I usually just buy an item online and then resell the item (sometimes even for a little bit more).

Ah, yeah that's fine. Just make sure to not go over the 2000$ limit.

Paypal would raise that if you supply them w/ a SSN even if you're under the 60 day limit.

I was really just referencing in getting the paypal credit itno real cash (e.g. withdrawing into a bank account/withdraw from pp debit card..etc.)

Either spend them on stuff you can receive physically. Or withdraw into a bank account which you can withdraw the cash from an ATM.

Or, if you're very very lucky you can find prepaid credit cards on ebay for 50$/100$/500$.

You buy that with the stolen funds, and they mail you a prepaid CC w/ that.

Then you could go register that prepaid card on paypal to convert it into cash, OR use it in person.

Only ways to get it out of paypal.

Total n00b to WoW scams here (As I've never played WoW) but what is an armory link and how would I go about getting one?

Do you need to provide a tracking number for shipping for paypal to side with you? I wouldnt think you would as its all done digitally.
