Is it legal to bring them from Mexico into the US?

My dads a customs officer...
And answer is pretty much yes.
If they see a bunch a pills you'll get questioned and if you bring them in w/out prescription, then yes it is illegal.

Yeah but I won't be bringing them in, I'll be bringing them out.
But if I just say it's something that it's not how far will they go to find out for sure if I only have like 40 of them?

Re: Since Tramadol isn't scheduled...
I don't mean to hijack the thread but I have a quick question about bringing pills over the border, can the drug dogs smell pills? Like if someone brought back a bunch of xanax or any scheduled pill would they be able to tell you had it if it was hidden and you played it off like you don't have anything.

I saw a documentary on dogs, and there ARE dogs that can smell MDMA pills, but I don't think there's anyway they could smell xanax and shit. But if they are dead set on busting your ass because you seem suspicious, they can make the dog falsely alert. They can manipulate the laws in ways that shouldn't be legal and get away with it. The key is to not act suspicious if you are going to hide them.

Re: Since Tramadol isn't scheduled...
You could get charged with "possesion of a controlled substance", as anything Rx only is still considered controlled.
BUT if it even made it to a trial (highly doubtful) then since it wasn't even a Scheduled substance, it would be some tiny bullshit misdemeanor. Any amount of jail time is REALLY worst-case scenario, and your lawyer is just horrible.
If caught, it should be a non-issue for Rx only meds.
