Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought.

Default lets talk about socialism.

Does anyone who views these forums agree that socialism is a sound method of government?

I sure do, perhaps not pure socialism. An extreme leftist stance on a lot of things. We need to start thinking about the future.

A proletariat revolution wont happen for a while though, I imagine.

A modern prole, the type that dwells in his cubicle, is too content with his immediate pleasures.

Helping people who need it is fine-we should- but it seems silly to say, "oh, free this, free that, everything's great. Socialism works." What many European nations have done isn't socialism, hardly revolutionary, and it's hardly necessary.

No.

It's stupid. Governments are flat out to organise a pissup in a brewery.

Let the helping of the proletariat come from the private sector.

You could go on, but you should really mention the higher unemployment rates, cost push inflation and all of those other 'awesome' things that come with having all of that stuff.
