What you gotta do is load it nice and even. Then kinda press down the weed when its on the paper before you roll. Then grab it and using your thumbs, tuck the paper in over the weed. Its important that it all tucks under there. Then don't let go, keeping it tight is the key to this part. Just after its tucked just continute to roll it up and then lick paper and seal and then you have a smokable joint.

m,ake sure the weed is spread evenly across the paper, hold the back of the paper with your pointer fingers and use both your thumbs to "cradle and roll" the weed into a tight cylinder shape... protip: Don't start rolling with your thumbs on the weed,put your thumbs just above the weed and start rolling, it will gradually become a joint like shape, start in the middle of the joint and roll your way out too the edges, then take the non sticky end and tuck the corners in under the weed... Use your thumbs to roll it up and it there you have it.

I don't know if that helps I'm not the best teacher. It's really quite simple, the hardest part I always had wioth rolling was tucking the paper and closing the joint.

Here's a tip: use a credit card to roll the paper over.

* make a roach using card equivalent to that of a rizzla packet.
* grind weed up
* mix with tobacco
* set up the paper with the sticky side facing you and facing inwards
* put roach at either end depending on your preference
* sprinkle mix into paper with slightly more at the end the roach is not - PRO TIP: spend time doing this so that, when you come to roll, it rolls evenly and doesn't hold air bubbles or creases
* roll your spliff, rubbing you index finger and thumbs together. It is sometimes easier to put a firmer grip on the end with the roach since this gives you some leverage. Roll across the joint until it's nicely packed in (not too tight tho!) and evenly spread
* now the trick: use a credit card (or card of equal size/strength) and press it into the part of the paper that is closest to you; fold it over your weed and tuck it into the other part of the paper that is furthest away from you (with the sticky still facing you). Use the card to ensure your roll is without creases, moving the card along until all of the paper is tucked in.
* now just simply lick, roll, and toke.

The key is to pack the stuff down with your index fingers before you roll it. What I did was get two packs of rollies and just smoked.

Get a friend to teach you. I started off terrible, everyone does. I picked it up eventually, I can roll a pretty impressive spliff now.

Or try rolling on MDMA. The day I went from being able to roll smokeable spliffs to being able to roll great spliffs was the day I had a weed'n'mandy marathon with a mate. To this day I've never rolled such good spliffs.

A tip I use is to fold over the bottom millimetre or so of the rizla (opposite to the sticky side, in the direction you tuck it) before rolling and press it flat. When I come to tucking in, it slips in about ten times more easily.

^ When I had some mandy I tried rolling solid spliffs. All that happened was I kept burning my fingers and hot rocks were falling off the solid onto the rizla thus making it unusable and having to start again. Good times.

put weed in roller... close roller by pushing the movable part away from you....place both thumbs on the movable roller, and move your thumbs to turn it... make 1 complete turn, insert paper and keep rolling it like you were before, when the glue strip is sticking out, lick it and roll it into the roller... pop it open and you have a joint...

if you like a bit of a cardboard roach, roll up a strip and place it in one side, fill the rest with weed...

i use a joker roller but the idea is still the same, i cant roll decent joints for shit... but god damn i have a gift for rolling blunts...

Keep at it. EVERYONE sucks for at least the first 10 and then you upgrade to just shitty joints. As for something to make it a bit easier? Use a roach or a rolled up piece of thick WHITE paper, as a filter. Gives you something solid to help roll the paper around.

In case someone else didn't mention how to use the roller, I will (I didn't read all the posts).

Place weed into the roller broken up while the roller is open. Once enough weed is in the roller, close it and roll the closer wheel towards you. Once it's rolled over a few times it'll be in alright shape. Get a paper, usually a 1.25 will be great for a roller, and place the end WITHOUT the gum into the small seam on top of the roller. While pushing it in, spin the wheel closer to you and it'll grab the paper and pull it in. Keep rolling it in and once it's just the little bit of gum piece sitting out, lick it and continue rolling. Roll it over a few times and then pop that bitch open and you have a cigarette size joint.

Actually they just suck because you will never learn to roll, and you won't have it everywhere. Being able to roll well has gotten me stoned for free plenty of times before.

Some papers are easier to roll with than others, I find thicker paper to be easier.

But yeh, practice, sit there and roll until you get it right. Look up a vid tutorial on youtube if you're that much of a failure.

Oh boy I smoked two rollies and one hand-made throughout the course of the day (Juicy Jay's MAPLE SYRUP 1 1/4"s) and must say joints are awesome because you don't have to relight them. I found either I wasn't putting enough weed in my joint or something because my roller ended rolling me one long very thin cylinder and I had to rub it in my fingers for a lil bit to loosen them up enough to the point where I could actually puff some air!

Meh they're more chill and wasteful than headrushy high from hitting a pipe and not wasting a puff of smoke.

I would love to roll spliffs, if I knew how. I guess when I move out of the house I'll have more time to practice... my problem with the 1.25" rolls is my lack of a roach (what should I use??) and the fact that it takes way more weed than my current tolerance needs to get high for the joint to be of appreciable fatness.

Yesterday I lit one up on the highway cruising along at 70-100 mph after dropping my girlfriend off... it's kind of a country road type autobahn, where cops aren't to be found for miles.... so it was really chill.

I found out the pipe I had with the "sealed" carb was merely a little coating of wax that once picked off (it picked off clean) it was fine for use... but I still like the jay better heh.

MAPLE SYRUP IS AN AWESOME FLAVOR btw. I couldn't help niggerlipping half the second joint before I realized I actually needed to light it first..... and when I couldn't smoke the nigger-lipped portion I unrolled it into my pipe, smoked more weed, then ate the other half of the maple syrup joint :D

Some tips I learned when I first started rolling joints:

- Use thick papers. They are easier to move around and are less prone to ripping, and it's harder to get them 'soaked' when you try to lick the gum. Once you get the hang of rolling, I suggest going to thinner papers, they don't have a burning paper taste, and can roll better joints.

- Know your steps before you start your roll. You can waste countless minutes trying to 'correct' something. If you start the roll, finish it, before the weed becomes messy and starts falling everywhere (believe me you will see this a lot with newbie rollers).

- Practice, practice, practice; with anything that has a texture like busted weed. I've practiced rolling tobacco, this odd spice I found in my kitchen, anything that feels like weed. That way, when it comes to rolling a REAL joint, your set.

- Don't bother watching rollers to see how to roll, many people have different style. I've seen people roll joints in a REALLY odd way. Just get yourself a pack of papers and start.

Any thin, slightly rigid paper is good. Glossy band flyers or good-quality magazine covers, or something slightly thicker, about 2x2cm. I don't know if they do in the USA, but in the UK rolling papers will have a strip of thinnish card in the middle of the pack to help it keep its shape, those work. Roll it into a tightish spiral with the diameter of a small BB and make sure you can draw air through it. Then you just position the weed in the rough shape of a spliff and roll it with the paper at a slight angle so it makes a bit of a cone shape.

And that's why you mix the weed with tobacco, silly. A pure green spliff is not something to be taken lightly. You can use ground mint leaves as well if you don't want to use baccy, mint makes for a really cool, refreshing smoke. People smoke it to relax without weed.

Heh, I don't think people smoke mint spliffs, just mint cigarettes.

I like it, although some people hate it. Makes for a really cool smoke. Wouldn't do it regularly though.

Whoever said practice was right. I used to think I would never be able to roll good joints, and I thought I'd never be able to type properly. All it takes is practice, you may develop your own style, and that's fine as long as it works. I like to twist the ends of my joints with the side you light bigger than the side you smoke from.

Get yourself about 4 ounces and lots of papers, roll it all up. Repeat as needed. Most people don't instantly get the hang of it. It usually takes weeks or months. Depends how much weed and papers you have...

~Bryan~ I thought about smoking mint leaf. I had orange mint once and pepper mint. But I couldn't grow them for long in this crazy climate. If I can ever get them established I'll probably make a mint extract and soak the rolling papers with it. There's many different kinds of mint.

When it comes to hand rolling, buy a bag of top/bugler/any cheap rolling tobacco. You will probly roll terrible cigarettes but by the end of that bag you should be rolling at least smokable cigarettes and thats a start. Practice some more and then translate that skill to joints and there ya go. Thats how I learned at least.

As far as I know, any kind of mint. I've had spearmint and peppermint joints, took the spearmint from a plant in my grandparents' back garden and my mate took the peppermint from his garden. One was much nicer than the other, but I can't remember which... wonder why. Just chuck a leaf in a grinder or something, maybe leave it to dry for a while first.

I think you can buy mint tea that's just made from mint leaves as well. Might be easier to get a pack of that and rip open a teabag.

I grow two types of mint. I have thought about adding them to the mix.

But I never have.

Practice and hang out with people who are worse at rolling than you. They'll always have you rollin and will think it's the best.
