What would your advice be, in general?
If you had to sum up everything you've learned in life, or, more specifically, about love, what would it be?
For me,
Be honest unless you're ABSOLUTELY sure you won't get caught.
Never commit too little, never commit too much.
Don't be spiteful.
If you are almost sure a girl likes you, she probably does and you should at least talk to her.
What would you say?
Edit: When I say the honesty thing, I don't mean cheating. I hate cheaters. I just mean lying in general.

Let the little things go.
Stand up for yourself even if you're scared to do it. Most times it will work out okay and if it doesn't...Do you really want to be with someone like that anyway?
No man or woman is worth being miserable for.

Realise that things will never be perfect, but if you're really lucky, they might seem that way.
Give the guy/girl a chance. A month from now you could be in love.
If you reject someone, don't be cruel about it. Don't enjoy it.

Re: What would your advice be, in general?
Love is crippling. It's hard to live with, but even harder to live with out.
When you tell some one the truth, do it so it benefits them, not to feel better about your self. No point "clearing your conscience" and totally hurting some one in the process.
Give her oral, as often as possible. Every thing can be fixed with good oral.
Breaking up just for break-up/make-up sex is worth it.
Don't base your life around the person you're with, instead make them a healthy part of your life.
Find good friends, and try to give them all you've got.

Re: What would your advice be, in general?
Continue to let yourself love, no matter how much you've been hurt. Being vulnerable holds the same risk for being hurt or finding happiness and the discovery of the latter is worth suffering the former a million times.
You cannot force love, if you aren't 100% into your partner now, you never will be. Don't waste your time.
Be honest and open. Hiding things and lying automatically poisons relationships.
Jealousy and anger are weak emotions. Practicing self control and "letting your bird go" is a necessity. You have to be secure and love yourself to be able to develop a healthy relationship.
Be flexible, relationships involve two different people, compromise and sacrifice are inevitable. You're not always going to get things your way so you might as well not fight about it.
Try to keep objective views and don't get too wrapped up in your subjective perceptions of things. It may be far from reality.
Don't downplay the other's feelings. If they telly you how they feel, that's how they feel and you should respect that. On the other hand, be open-minded, you're attracted to this person because there's things to learn from him/her.
Be grateful every day you've found love and don't take it for granted. If you find your self unappreciative, you should take a look in the mirror and fix it quick.

Re: What would your advice be, in general?
Chloroform is a guy's best friend.
But, seriously, make sure you enjoy being around someone before you date them. The other half of the word girlfriend is "friend", and I have seen many relationships <not mine> break down because it was based solely on sexual attraction.
Don't ever wait to tell someone how you feel about them, unless they are currently in a relationship. Don't ever, ever wait, especially if that person is a close friend. The whole," I don't want to risk our relationship" argument, in my personal experience, is bullshit. It only hurts the more you see them, and God forbid you see them with someone else....
Don't let yourself be defined by a relationship, and don't be a "half-person", constantly looking for your other half. Be a whole and happy person by yourself, then look to form relationships with others.
If you can't get someone out of your head, maybe they are supposed to be there.

I approve of this thread.
No matter how in love you are with someone, don't let the love blind you. Keep your emotional health in check and think with your head, not your heart.
You'll make mistakes, sometimes they should just be left as mistakes and pick up where you left off.
