Default melting picks

How can I stop my picks from melting when I play guitar? I go through like at least one pick everytime I play.

I don't play guitar, but off the top of my head, you could always try freezing your picks.

You aren't John Petrucci!

If this is an honest post, try the Ultex Jazz III's from Dunlop.

Nahh, they'd be unfrozen by the time you close the freezer door.

You won't be able to do shit to those. They are the best picks I've ever used. The $8 price tag might seem pretty extreme, but they are absolutely great. The tone they produce is wonderful and they are completely unbendable which really helps with fast single note lines. The multiple edges on it are different bevels, so I usually use the main point for lines and one of the other edges for chord work. When I don't have access to one of those though, I use the Dunlop Jazztone 205 ( http://www.musiciansfriend.com/produ...ack?sku=111012 ). They keep their shape better than the Jazz III which I used to use, and they are a little bit thicker and narrower which I like. They are also made out of a slightly different material which I like better.

I know the guy who sold the first stone guitar picks (the MIN'D pick), and he told me about how he used to sell them for $6.50 a piece. I wish you could still find stone picks for that much.

Neither am I, but I used to have the same problem.
Then I started using Tortex 1.14 mm picks.
Now I use Gator Grips of the same size. I don't drop them as often.

that would be cool... although, the stone mine is made out of IS really nice looking, and i understand it's hard to get stone picks as small as 1mm, which is what i like.
