Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more!

Powerpoint presentations in foreign languages are always interesting.

Skip about 5/10 minutes to the gameplay.

Most of that isn't new footage and it's certainly not 30 minutes long.

I really wasn't impressed with the demo. The guy controlling it didn't know what the fuck he was doing most of the time; he made a game that is supposed to look seamless and fluid into something clunky and boring. What a shame.

I have two major concerns with Mirror's edge: first is that free-running will always look best in 3rd person, since most of it is about looking stylish and showing off agility. I hope they manage to convey that in 1st person and it doesn't end up making the player feel horribly sick due to the erratic camera.
Second is with the combat system. Often with games like this the developers will refine and prioritise the game's most prominent feature (obviously); the downside of this, however, is that its other features can end up lacking. A good example of this is can be found in Assassin's Creed, where the fighting system ended up being generic and uninspired.

I hope it turns out okay, despite what my wallet keeps telling me.

This game looks incredibly boring. The only way it could be worse is if it forced you to keep your schlong in a blender while you played, and if you died, the blender starts.

I'd hardly say that would be boring.
