Your full of shit and have no idea what you're talking about. Servers make 20 dollars an hour and up easy. I average 30 an hour in tips alone. That's not counting the 8 bux an hour I get with minimum wage.

Yo, if you're in the USA that's illegal. Minimum wage means MINIMUM wage. Meaning the minimum wage you can receive unless you're an illegal immigrant.

Tips, infact, originate from when it was common practice for waiters to make less then minimum wage. Thus bumping them up to a wage possible to live on.

WITH tips she made about 9$ an hour. Minimum wage here is $8. The restaurant broke no laws seeing as how shes going home with ABOVE minimum wage.

Edit: A lot of business do this. Minimum wage means the minimum amount of money you go home at the end of an hour.

I make $5.75 an hour (minimum wage here is 8) plus commission on every repair job I do. The shop is always busy. People bring their cars in right as we finish working on one. So on the pay, it would seem like I make under minimum wage. Illegal. But with the commission I average about $14-17 an hour. The more work I do the more I get paid. $14-17 an hour is not bad for a first year.

So maybe I should just quit and go to work as a waiter for 30$

Minimum wage doesn't apply to waitstaff. They usually get 2-3$ an hour plus tips.
