Basically this is how it is, SWIM has a mixture of both fresh poppy heads and dried poppy heads and a little bit of dried opium gum. Now, as most people know the most common form of consuming the pods are in stupid little invention called "poppy tea". Now what most people don't know is when you make poppy tea the only alkaloids you're getting are codeine, thebaine and whatnot, no morphine. From what I understand the unrefined morphine alkaloid is not soluble inwater(I could be wrong, but it entirely explains why pods never seem to work for me). Anyway, I was wondering if using rubbing alcohol or something to extract the morphine alkaloids(fuck the other alks) would be practical, is unrefined morphine soluble in alcohol? SWIM thinks he can extract the alkaloids with rubing alcohol, let evap and put the left over chunky shit in gel caps.

Anyone have any tried and true methods or links that may help? I don't feel like drinking anymore of that weak codeine tea. If I want codeine ill go to the pharmacy and buy some t1's otc, the pills taste better than the rancid tea does.

Why? If the morph isn't soluble in water and it is in alcohol there would be only benefits in doing an extraction taht way. Less crap and plant matter and more opiate alkaloids, Perhaps I can crumble it up and put in 00 gelcaps or something.


What i want to know is if anyone has experience doing this or something similiar? Any better methods? Any one with chemistry knowledge here know if the morphine in water thing is true or untrue?
