Back in my very early pyro days as a young kid, I fucked around with somewhat dangerous, stupid shit that I knew nothing about, as I'm sure a lot of us did.

I don't really mess around with anything now and even if I do, it isn't anything that I haven't heavily researched.

So one time when I was about 13-14 I started to play around with "chlorine bombs". We mixed alcohol and chlorine tablets and got our desired effect. After our young minds got bored with the idea we started experimenting with other house-hold chemicals to get a bigger bang using the same concept. I remember using gasoline, bleach, ammonia, chlorine, alcohol, kerosene, paint thinner, and a bottle of mineral spirits.

Because it was so long ago, I don't remember what combination or ratio of the above things we used in our final "bottle bomb". All I remember was putting in some liquid/liquids and dropping the chlorine in. Before I could even get the cap on I remember hearing/seeing like a violent fizzing/bubbling. At that point I got scared shitless and I remember tossing the bottle, with the cap barely on, just a few feet from my friend and I only to have it blow up before even hitting the ground. The bang was deafening. I still don't hear normally to this day. It was louder than a gunshot. The bottle was completely vaporised. Nothing was left. It left a hole in the grass in which we were on, We were in an open area and my friend was watching from maybe 20ft away so I am absolutely positive the bottle didn't just fly somewhere.

My question to you, totse, is what the hell did we mix? I don't know of anything that would have that much of an effect. How the hell did this happen?
