I'm a total pot n00b, so please excuse my ignorance. I'm kinda learning on my own as I go here

I bought some weed, $50 worth. It was through my gf's brother's hookup, the gf's brother bought it, we bought it off him. Now this stuff definitely smells like weed, and from my inexperienced eye looks like weed.

This IS weed, isn't it? I've smoked 3 bowls full and just barely felt anything at all. Is this just really shitty weed? I'm having a hard time getting a consistent hookup here, my gf and one other friend are the only people i personally know that smoke. I'm going to get some through my friend's hookup, hopefully it's as good as the stuff I first smoked. My gf got a couple buds from some friend who then moved out of town, that stuff would get me stoned out of my mind with just a few hits. Since then, the stuff we've been getting has been getting progressively worse. I know it's not just because I'm getting a tolerance, cuz I'm talkin a span of a couple weeks, with me smoking a bowl maybe once every couple of days. It helps a lot with the pain from my broken leg, when I'm stoned I don't feel it or think about it at all, and it actually lets me sleep through the night (unlike the norco that wears off around 3-4am, and I wake up in pain).

One thing I noticed about this stuff is it seems like it was dried and packed kinda flat. Before, we had gotten actual buds, like they were dried out but that was it. Any input? Like I said, I'm a total n00b when it comes to this, last time I smoked was in 9th grade (6-7 years ago), and it was just when I was hangin out with my stoner friends and they passed the pipe/pepsi can to me and I hit it a couple times. Basically, don't bother with the "ur so dumb lol!!!!1" comments :)

It's definitely shitty weed. But it should get you high. Lots of people don't get high their first time. Try smoking with a bong - this seems to work better for first timers.

Edit: Ok it's not your first time. How are you smoking it? If you are smoking it through a bong/water pipe and you aren't getting high then it must be worthless weed. That is definitely not $50 worth no matter where you live BTW.

It's definitely weed, just not very good stuff. Typical brick weed. Maybe you just haven't gotten the hang of inhaling it yet? Keep trying because even though its not the best it should certainly get you high.

And I do smoke out of a little ~9" tall plastic bong, I like how the smoke isn't nearly as harsh as using a pipe so I didn't even bother buying a pipe.

when I smoke it I cover the carb, light the lighter and inhale, fills the bong with smoke then I stop with the lighter, uncover the carb and inhale it all. I hold it as long as I can then blow it out

my grinder has a screen on the bottom and a bottom part that unscrews and has a bunch of powder stuff in it. from what I've read it's pollen? and it has more THC than the ground up stuff? maybe I should get some of the powder/pollen and put it in the bowl with the stuff I'm smoking, and it would help?

Yes, but usually it takes an ounce or 2 of shitty weed to get enough pollen for it to be worth while. And yea that weed doesn't look too bad but sometimes weed looks alright but has just no THC in it and sometimes weed looks terrible but gets you high as fuck.

Thats a decent amount. I would get your bong put a small nug in the bowl, just big enough to cover the whole. Then put all that keif into the bowl and smoke away.

I think your not getting high because your not inhaling it right. Next time you smoke take a breath of fresh air after you take your hit and hold it around 10 seconds. I know tons of people who didn't get high there first time because they weren't inhaling right. That weed is kinda shitty but you should get high off of it.

Sounds like you just got dank bud your first few times. That happened to me and I was disappointed with pot for a while. Then I got dank pot again and I was satisfied. Just start growing your own (if you can) or wait till you can get some good pot.

After a few months of dedicated blazing, you will know exactly how to tell the difference between schwag and droski. Also, when you say that the "good" weed you got made you pass out, what you got was either beasters(BC buds aka indica which is mostly a body trip but sold at chron prices) or just some mexican mids that didn't suck. Good proper chron will not make you tired at all, instead it will give you a head trip. Thats why its called headies.

Look, I've been to festivals with all kinds of people from all areas of the US. Headdies means it's some dank-ass pot. I've gotten Hash Plant (primarily Indica) as headdies and I've gotten NL x blueberry (mostly Sativa) as headdies. It's just good-ass pot.

As I said before, beasters = high mids with a higher price tag to those who don't realize it. It's not compressed, has a decent coating of crystals and probably some longer hairs, but you're gonna need 7-8 hits, instead of 1-2 with headdies.

That looks like some rather crap weed, but it might still be kinda nice, if you smoke enough. Seeing as you have no tollerance, it will get your stoned... you just have to figure out how! It's weird how cannabis doesn't affect people at first... it's almost like you're not used to it, so you don't feel it. I remember getting this floaty light headedness, and not really much more... but then, I carried on smoking and it hit me.

Make a joint after crumbling it up finer and taking out the twigs, then just give that a smoke. Basically, just keep trying when you have some time... and if really nothing is happening, then buy some better stuff and do some bong hits or something.

I've got a couple of other people I can get some through, but I have so goddamn much of this stuff still and I don't want to waste it (any more of a waste than it already is...) so it'll take me awhile to get through all of it. I ground up all of the one bag and put it in a pill bottle (one of the smaller bottles you get from target), the other bag is still untouched and I've smoked about a dozen bowls already and still have a LOT more to go :-/

I live in MD just outside of DC too and where we live that would be a good deal for mids.

well first off, even with the bag as opened and moved as much as it is, all the shake is still fairly well packed together on the bottom, so not likely that he ground all that up, plus i dont kno many ppl that take it out just to gring it.

if u do pay more than that u should find new dealers/have a talk/come here, because i have 4 dealers and i get fire mids for 50 a half all the time. and better deals, when i get a q, i get 8.4 for 25 of fire mids. do wat i do, find ur usual weed, go to the other dealers, tell them to match ur blunt and if they will, use em. we match atleast 1 gram a blunt, normally about 1.3-4. when they see u kno wat ur fuckin talkin about and ur not takin ne bs deals, theyll give u ur shit right. and doin that shit gets me better shit, cuz they kno im good business, ive seen em drop 130 a q and turn around and sell me 4 grams for 20 of very good shit. ill smoke about 2 blunts with them, and go on, sell that for double profit, or smoke the rest later.

I think I found why it's such shit...it's a male plant. There are no hairs (pistils) whatsoever, but a bunch of seeds. I've since got much better stuff, where it's obviously a female and isn't all caked together like the dirt weed, the good stuff is in bud form still
