Cool Using a CPU/Computer fan as an ordinary fan?

I was wondering how (or if) a computer fan could be rigged up to work in different situations. I don't exactly have a use for one now I just think it would be neat having like a little fan on my desk whirling away.

I DID try to google this but I guess I didn't word it right or there are no sites on this...

Anyhow let me know please.

If you're looking to cool yourself off by doing this, while having a computer on the desk, just wire another fan off the wires from the one in the back of the case. Just an idear.

I used to have 4 80mm Computer fans around the edge of my desk. Each was wired to a push on-push off switch so i could turn them on or off. All four were wired to a 12V power supply from an old wireless phone.

I have a 120mm Panaflo in a home-made swivelling bracket as a desk fan. Simply use almost any 12v power supply to power the thing.

There's loads of uses for computer fans...I even have a couple of 80mm ones running on 9v to cool my stereo rack.

I once mounted an 80mm 12v fan in the fly of my jeans. I powered it with a 9v battery.

It made for an awesome ball-cooler but BE WARNED. Put the cage side facing in.

I don't think a CPU fan would keep even the smallest of mammals cooled down; but you could do as woopsueypigs77 suggested.

They do, I had one once that I powered with 12v I think, it cooled me down, I put it on my desk on the shelf that's at eye level. It was really good in summer.
