Do Mac lovers really love Steve Jobs more than <insert any name here>? I just get the vibe that most people who own Mac think he is the greatest person to ever grace the planet. I ask because I keep seeing articles questioning his health and people up in arms on forums.

Apple puts out great products, but is there any reason to worship him? I know he doesn't come up with every Apple idea, or does he?

I think he's a real asshole.

But he does make other people make some great products.

I don't think it's terribly hard to do what he does, most other CEO's are too focused on corporate BS to give a crap whether their products are half-way decent.

The real genius behind most of Apples products and the man I look up to is Jonathan Ive. His is the director of design or something like that and he is truly a genius when it comes to making great products. He is the brains behind the iMac, iPod and iPhone. He is like a sculptor when it comes to making the Apple product lines beautiful and in all of the interviews I've seen of him and the time I met him, he seems very humble. He is the one that has made Apple famous for their design and I believe that when Steve Jobs steps down as CEO (which will be IMO soon) Jonathan Ive should be his replacement.

This article (although a little old) Talks about Ive's attitude toward design and teamwork

As for Steve Jobs, he seems like kind of an ass hole but he is great business man. He almost single-handedly (with the help of Jonathan Ive) saved Apple from certain death and there is much to be learned from his business practices. He is proof that being a dick can actually benefit yourself and you company. I wouldn't want to work for him, but I certainly dont hate him.

For example, at WWDC 2008 a female fan was excited to see him so she tapped him on the arm to get his autograph or whatever, and he shrugged her off telling her "not to touch me"

Kind of a dickish thing to do.

So what, he has a right to deny her of an autograph and she was wrong to touch him. I'm not a huge fan of Steve either, but I think he's a good person. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1R-jKKp3NA

99% of the time, all the time a mac owner would swallow an oil barrel full of his semen.

I really don't want to start anything, but I do not get why people purchase a mac. The price of their products are utterly ridiculous for the hardware you get. If you love the OS so much, build your own PC and install said OS. Then again it may not look like "a sexy mac." Fuck that.
