Default Murder.

What are your views on killing someone? Do you think it's wrong, right or depends on the circumstances? Also, do you think comitting murder takes a great strength or a great weakness? Shit like that. (Sorry if this has already been posted, I can't be fucked searching threads.)

I lol'd, you're basically an acolyte yourself. And how the shit do you get more than fucking 30 posts a day, although I guess if most of your posts are like the one I'm quoting right now it's not all that hard. Trying to lose that acolyte status as fast as possible, eh.

To get on topic though, I think it's all pretty much based on circumstances. Sometimes it'll take great strength to kill someone, sometimes it'll be out of weakness. Sometimes it's okay for you to kill somebody, whilst for other people in the same situation it might not seem so okay. It's all subjective I guess.

I think it's not really possible to define a set of rules on when it's okay or not okay to kill someone, but yeah I think in some circumstances it's okay.

It is reasonable to kill off the weaker of our race. I would call it, filtering, rather than murder, if one kills without emotionally driven intentions.

if you have to protect you and yours, all bets are off. otherwise, murder has always been seen as a sign of weakness as far as games of power etc.

I can agree with this. The circumstances dictate the response.

I prefer not to do it due to my natural aversion to hurt others of my own species, unless of course they are trying to hurt me, always favor yourself slightly above the crowd, thats what instincts tell me...So circumstances....

Well, if I kill you because I'm afraid not doing so will result in a far greater punishment than maybe weakness? If I have to overcome you in a battle of survival (hand to hand combat for the last piece of food) than greatness I guess?

This is very vague post about a very, very complicated topic. Does murder take strength or weakness? What kind of a question is that and why am I responding to it?

All questions I would like answered...But not by you or anyone else for that matter...

Murder: THe preconcieved and intentional act of killing another.

if youre using that strict definition, self defense doesnt count.
in this, case i would advocate the murder of certain individuals if it was completely necessary (such as in a revolution against a tyrannical state)

otherwise i dont believe in "murdering" people

circumstances. There are many people who's lives I could take without feeling a pang of pain or guilt and many which I couldn't.

Its all about the reasons...

I mean I cant get behind like literal murder, running down a street and shooting people.

On the otherhand if someone breaks into my house and is going to hurt me or my family I'll kill him without warning...

It's definitly a weak responce to kill people for a gain, it shows mental instability and a lack of conscience.

Its much more of a responsibility and thus a greatness to kill in your own or someone else's defense.

I believe it's acceptable to kill people in certain circumstances. Like it's not wrong for soldiers fighting for their country who have orders to kill to kill. And I don't believe it's wrong to kill in self defense, or for revenge. But otherwise it's wrong (there may be other situations i can't think of off the top of my head I'm pretty tired)

It shows force.

Sometimes when people kill, It's got nothing to do with weakness, games, or insanity.

People with strength win. That is the law of this world.

If somebody gets in your way, you kill them. That's the way our forefathers did it, that's the way we do it, and it's worked out pretty well so far.

Everyone here is saying that murder is right under the right circumstances, but they barely expand on that beyond providing a few examples of when it is right and when it is wrong. There is clearly a latent, unexamined principle guiding such sentiments. It would make for a much more interesting thread if said posters attempted to formulated and analyze this principle, whatever it may be. What's more, it may encourage them to go down some intellectual paths that they have never traveled before, which is always good. But This is just my suggestion, though.

I kept on having these dreams where I killed people, many of them just out of pure anger.

About my views on killing let me tell you this.

One guy once messed with y sister. I have a picture of him and was even making the weapon for the murder.

While I built it, thousands of thought suddenly rushed though my head. Not thoughts about getting caught, Ive never worried about that. Thoughts about life and death, and how the life of one affects many other lives, directly and indirectly.

Thoughts about what life itself is (as a philosophical question). Thoughts deep into the mind and how life itself plays out, although Ive always believed in life after death and transition and resurrection.

Still now I think that I would be able to kill any trouble kid or anyone who pose a threat to me and not feel guilty about it, but in that moment I did think that doing such pre-planned murder and building a weapon and hunting this kid down was just madness.

If I saw this kid, Id still smash his head. Just not think too much about it, and Im not gonna go all round in search for him, for the while Ill just let him be.

One pal also, he was willing to pay me up to 10 grand to whack some dude who kept giving him trouble.

Still I do think trouble people should be slain like the beasts they are, but if you ARE going to kill someone, first think for a moment if it is really worth it, not because of the law and the risk of getting caught, all that is meaningless when you come to consider the depths of what death and life themselves really are.

Only in self defense.

I don't believe in "killing people because killing people is wrong," even though a lot of times I see these child molesters and I think "I'd sure like those guys executed" I know it's not right. It's weak.
