| Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more! |

Games on higher dificulty settings
What games do you play that when you put them on harder settings that it actually gets really hard. the only game i can think of at the moment is MGS 3 on European Extreme. You can peek your head out around the corner and theyll see your ass from a mile back and call for backup and they will find your ass no matter what.
Street fighter three on the other hand on highest difficulty is still like fighting an eight year old.

Diablo 2 on Nightmare and Hell.
The Fight Club game was pretty hard on the highest difficulty if I remember correctly.
Gears of War.
Warcraft 3.
Empire Earth 2.
And the Master Quest bonus package for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Forged motherfucking Alliance.
Hey, kill this large enemy base. Ok...
*map zooms out*
Kill this larger enemy base, and destroy these secret bombers before they take off. Ok...
*map zooms out*
Kill this even bigger enemy base, and kill this absolutely enormous enemy base before they break through the castle's defenses.
Give me a fucking break!!! And this is on normal! I'm not even going to try and play this online.

Ninja gaiden black. And on the master ninja setting, holy shit. One of the few games I love because of the difficulty. I'm on ninja gaiden 2 and it seems much easier than black ever was.

Diablo 2 wasn't hard in the slightest in Nightmare, and even in Hell it was fairly easy if you knew what you were doing.
Gears of War was a fucking joke on even its most difficult setting compared to other games.
Ninja Gaiden: Black on Master Ninja like someone mentioned, had me wanting to chuck the controller out the window at times.
I was playing Contra III on hard the other day, now that was fucking difficult.

Oh, and Halo 3 with multiple skulls on Legendary on the "Cortana" level. Holy shit.

Re: Games on higher dificulty settings
Halo on legendary. Mainly the section when you get beamed up into the Covenant ship, and you have 8+ elites with one touch death swords in a confined space. It was really annoying. That was really the only tricky bit. The biggest problem was constantly running out of ammo and having to backtrack to get guns with 10% ammo. And the goddamn friendly AI! YAY GRENADE LETS GROUP HUDDLE! Sigh.

Metal Gear Solid 1-4.
Very easy/easy/normal for all of them are fine with only a tiny bit of challenge on Normal.
Hard/Very hard/Big Boss Hard/Extreme/Euro Extreme are very difficult to beat. I had a very hard time beating them, but its worth it in the end.

Re: Games on higher dificulty settings
I put all shooters at the highest dificulty so that when I finally beat the game Im good online, + I feel more accomplished after beating the game, attempting each checkpoint 100 times

Re: Games on higher dificulty settings
PREY was disappointingly easy on Cherokee difficulty.
The Halo series. Legendary was designed purely for the batshit insane levels to be nigh on impossible.

Agreed; "The Library" was a literal fucking nightmare, as was "Cortana".
And in reference to Zero's mission in GTASA, I couldn't handle the mission, so I used the time slow-down code, which gives you like, quadruple amount of fuel. It was quite easy with that, but I'm pretty sure I would have gone through about three controllers trying to beat that mission.
