do you think in the future we will all be taking pills for everything. not as supplements but as or entire food base. we have so many right now vitimins, minerals, supplements, supressants, uppers, downers, hallucinagens. we have everything what if in the future we wake up take a few pills and away we go and different situations throughout the day we solve simply by taking a pill or 2. go, speak away my people.

Re: chemical man
no, muscle mass and other tissue does not magically appear, it comes fomr eating other muscle mass and tissue. You might end up eating a concentrated brick of pure muscle building blocks or something (think the cocaine of protein shakes) but thats as far as it could go.

You can't predict how far any technology can go. Also muscle mass and tissue does not come from eating muscle mass and tissue. We're not built like fucking jeepers creepers. How do you think vegetarians build muscle mass and tissue?

That is exactly what they want, for the entire worlds population to be totally dependent on a drug they engineered.
Not everything can be "cured" or helped by drugs. Drugs are NOT the end all be all answer to every problem, hell, ANY problem.
You have quite a bit of maturation to do.

not now there not but they sure help in alot of situatuations and i'm not saying drugs. not once did i use the word drug. drug has such a negative persona, when someone says drug you dont think of the positive you just think coke, weed, E and all the illicits
besides think about where we would be without penicillin, yes we fucked up, used it too much, became dependant on it and now we have superbugs but it was a great advancement in human history. caffeine the most widely used drug in the world is a pick me up for alot of people in the morning around the world. memory pills, sleeping pills, erection pills (this now in a spray), medication, antibiotics, good bacteria pills. the list could go on if i could be bothered were basically heading towards this future anyway i'm merely looking at a little step forward from where we are now. and as far as some of the others have said about muscle mass think protein pills, for energy we could probably take iunno sugar pills or some complex carbohydrate in the form of a pill.
drugs may not be able to solve all of our problems now but the sure as hell some alot of them and as far as me needing to mature i think a) thats none of your business and b) i'm being quite mature about this it is you hu needs to grow up and instead of acting like a teenager and rejecting anyone elses opinion except your own maybe you could post some positive feed back, add to the conversation or GTFO

According to your logic, you're a fucking moron and should probably go back to school. i added some bold tags and a comma to make things slightly clearer for your obviously lacking intelligence you fucking mongoloid.
I dont even need biology so make this clear to you, so heres a basic lesson in THE SCIENCE THAT BINDS YOUR PATHETIC LIFE TOGETHER. This is what i want you to do.
1. go and get an aspirin tablet.
2. hold it up next to your arm, and then shift your attention to your arm. Got that?
3. See that bulgey slightly squishy thing between your "bone" and your "skin" on the top side? thats called your BICEP.
4. notice size difference between aformentioned aspirin tablet and and BICEP.
5. observe one of the principal at the foundation of modern physics (and all science, for that matter...) YOU CANNOT CREATE MATTER, ONLY REARRANGE IT.
6. Enlighten yourself and kindly shut the fuck up, because unless that aspirin pill is so dense it weighs more than your average aspirin by several (and by several, i mean a shitload) orders of magnitude, IT CANNOT POSSIBLY CONTAIN ENOUGH RAW BUILDING BLOCKS TO BUILD YOU A BICEP. Let alone the other 300+ muscles in the body.
Fuck me this board is overflowing with absolute cretins.

What the fuck is all this aspirin blabble you dumb shit? You basically said "You have to eat muscle to gain muscle" which is totally fucking retarded. There's already pills that build muscle. Ever heard of steroids? So yes, stop talking out of your ass.

OH MY FUCKING GOD YOU ARE SO STUPID.
STEROIDS DO NOT BUILD MUSCLE YOU 14 YEAR OLD BAG OF FUCK.
It is you who is talking out of your ass. Your stupidity is off the fucking scale.
STEROIDS MAKE YOUR MUSCLES RECOVER FROM EXERCISE MORE QUICKLY.
edit: And if you cannot make the connection between the aspirin pill analogy (hint: it could be any fucking pill) and the subject of this thread, you truly have down's syndrome.

Yeah, uh caps don't make you sound any smarter. Once again you're talking out of your ass because steroids to not make muscles recover from exercise more quickly. They increase the protein synthesis in cells resulting in the build up of tissue, specifically in muscles. You don't have to exercise for steroids to have an effect.
So yeah basically nothing you've said in this thread has been right so you should stop talking.
Edit: I understood you're dumb ass aspirin analogy, it's just completely fucking stupid.

Whilst I agree that muscle mass that is eaten is not magically converted straight to muscle mass within our bodies, In your first post in this thread you claimed that;
You can't predict how far any technology can go.
Implying to me that you believe in the possibility of a magical two-pills-a-day nutritional fix.
At the end of the day, you must admit that it would be impossible to fit an entire days nutrition into a couple of pills, unless they were either as dense as a collapsed star, or approximately the size of a normal meal each. Of course, who are we to futuremong what will be created within 10, 20 years, but to me there is more of a literal size constraint on matter, and even more crudely, what can be fit into our mouths, that would stop this dream from ever coming to fruition.
Sure you could remove everything out of a meal until you were left with exactly what a human needed in terms of nutrition, but we've obviously had millions of years to evolve a method by which we gain what nutrition we need from our food, and our bodies deal with the extra, the roughage, the stringy bits, and without these, suddenly thousands of metabolic pathways and processes would become useless, which, looking at what happens when our immune systems* are used less and less, would appear as though they'd only cause a detrimental effect.
*E.g. look at the numbers of allergies.

As of right now, it is impossible. But who knows what things science will uncover in the future. If you would've asked someone 500 years ago if they ever thought we could have a thing like electricity, they would've thought it was no fucking way possible, and you probably would've got burned at the stake for witchcraft.
Sure, I doubt that everyone will be heading to Walgreens on their lunchbreak someday, but if a technology like this was discovered it would have great use for the military and NASA. The process of eating and tasting food is too enjoyable I think to be replaced by taking a pill.

I'm trying to make sure you focus your meagre intellect on the knowledge im trying to drop on you, sadly it doesnt appear to be working :(
Everything you say is so fucking stupid its incredible. Increase protein synthesis in cells resulting in a build up of tissue? Do you understand how weightlifting makes you build muscles at all? Weightlifting creates lots of tiny little rips in your muscles that your body then repairs, getting bigger in the process. And so that is why "increasing protein synthesis" makes you recover faster. Judging by your previous post you think taking steroids magically just conjures up new muscle out of thin air. You are handicapped as fuck. Or perhaps youre going to tell me thats actually not how muscles are built and its the dumbbell pixies giving you a sensual massage while you sweat away in the gym.
Heres a source for you. http://www.sportsci.org/encyc/anabster/anabster.html#1
How a Steroid Works
Heavy resistance training seems to be necessary for anabolic steroids to exert any beneficial effect on physical performance. Most research studies that have demonstrated improved performance with anabolic steroids used experienced weight lifters who were capable of training with heavier weights and producing relatively greater muscle tension during exercise than novice subjects. The effectiveness of anabolic steroids is dependent upon unbound receptor sites in muscle. Intense strength training may increase the number of unbound receptor sites. This would increase the effectiveness of anabolic steroids.
I studied sport science for 2 years. My weights partner finished a steroid course about 2 weeks ago. This leads me to believe i know what i am talking about and you do not. The aspirin analogy is not completely fucking stupid, and the fact you think it is shows you actually do not understand it. Please explain to me how you are going to fit all the nutrition to build your entire fucking body into a pill with a volume of 1cm3 AT MOST.
@ Von Bass: I was trying to simplify it as much as possible so it would be easily understood, sadly i obviously did not simplify it enough. Life is hard.

Agreed, I was really just arguing the point from the matter-has-to-come-from-somewhere point of view, and yeah, I wouldn't eat a pill rather than a meal, and I hope to god noone would.

Yes steroids do help your muscles recover faster when working out, but you act like you MUST work out for steroids to take affect which is completely fucking stupid.
One thing steroids does is cause the development of muscle proteins, hence "increasing protein synthesis." Basically, they do "magically conure up new muscle out of thin air" which is why they're outlawed in sports. It's in their fucking name "anabolic" meaning they promote "anabolism", which means cell growth as I'm sure you didn't know. So you don't have to go work out for steroids to build muscle dumb ass, it only makes them more effective which you should know seeing as your a big, smart studier of sports science.
You don't have to "eat muscle and tissue to gain muscle and tissue."
As for the aspirin analogy, steroids prove that a pill can "contain enough raw building blocks to build a bicep. Let alone the other 300+ muscles in the body."
So go ahead and pull something else out of your ass for me to prove wrong.
*waits for next idiotic post*

I'm loving how so many idiots are flocking to this thread. Try taking steroids without ingesting any protein and we will see how far your muscles out of thin air theory works...it wont. It still requires protein which is found in plants and animals. So therefore we do need to eat muscle and/or tissue to gain muscle and tissue. Also if you take steroids without working out guess what happens? You just become a fat-ass, you don't gain tons of muscle. I think you did jenkem a few to many times and its inhibiting your ability to understand basic concepts.

Yes steroids do help your muscles recover faster when working out
Once again you're talking out of your ass because steroids to not make muscles recover from exercise more quickly.

I dont even need to think of a witty comment to accompany this one, your stupidity speaks for itself.

Anabolism is the set of metabolic pathways that construct molecules from smaller units. These reactions require energy.
Require energy. As in, DO NOT CONJURE UP OUT OF THIN AIR. As in, Take the shit from all that EXTRA FOOD you are eating because you are on a STEROID COURSE, and use it to help build your muscles. Lord give me strength. i feel like i am educating a particularly stubborn autistic child.
