30 day ban is ridiculous for image spamming. Makes me wanna change my password and change my email so I'll never come back. Free speech is okay, but it wasn't spamming. Considering I post more relative stuff than half the people here, obviously someone tripped over the power cord. I've seen much worse and much less action. How much does Meta have his hand in this?

We were quite content with giving the 10 day ban for what is generally considered spamming.

However users like him got all bitchy and kept throwing up a quote from Jeff on what spam is. So we were told that we could only give the spam infraction for only the narrow definition Jeff gave.

As a consequence we have only been able to use the only other infraction that fits, which is the defacing totse one and that is a 30 day ban.

And don't tell us to change the infraction system: We'd love nothing better, but it is something only Jeff can tweek. So we have to wait for him to get around to it. The request has been made.

In the mean time, try just not breaking the rules and you won't have to worry about it now, will you?

Lol, I'm no different than I ever am. ...And it wasn't just the one person, several jumped on the band wagon that we only give spam infractions for that narrow definition.

Of course their purpose was to not get infracted at all, so it all kinda blew up in their faces..Ironic, huh?

So what is image spamming exactly? Like if I post a image of goatse, would I end up getting 30? Or does it have to be a advertisement or repeated picture posting?

^here's an example--one genius posted the same extremely disgusting photo in like three different forums, which got his ass infracted for defacement.

If someone is stupid and annoying enough to deface Totse with unwanted graphics or chained-graphics, even one time, and especially if they already know it is unwanted, but went ahead anyways, they actually deserve a perma-ban. At least, that'd be the decision in my books. You can thank your gods I'm not in charge, because there'd be assholes sailing over the fence here, there, and everywhere.
