Do you use desktop icons?
If you run explorer as your shell (or any other shell for that matter), do you use desktop icons? Or do you use some other implement such as the start menu? Or just the quick launch bar?
I'm just curious.

Re: Do you use desktop icons?
I do. I use both, whatever's convenient. I dunno if I have no windows open and the desktop is there I will but otherwise instead of minimizing them I'll quick launch if it's there or start menu it.

Re: Do you use desktop icons?
I rarely use the start menu. The desktop icon allows me to control the launch environment via the properties tab on the icon. Particularly handy when I need/want to control the screen size/type or use either the batch or program to pass command line arguments to the target application.
For example, if I am working on several projects, I will make a separate icon for each one, and while they may all lauch the same editor/compiler, with one click it sets everything up for the desired project.

That is probably the least efficient way to load programs, if you actually use it you are a fool.

And I would be disinclined to agree. I use the Run prompt far more than anything else. I do like Quick Launch because it's always visible and requires only one click lest it's set to expand as a menu.
My only problem with it is, like the desktop, it can become cluttered.
