What do you think will be the next big band that will lead a new or altered wave of bands?

Or do you think that its gone forever???


I really don't know what to expect for the future since so many peope I know are entertained by mindless hits by people like rihhana(who has advertising in her video clips) and p diddy.

That being said I think theres alot of metal fans getting tired and waiting for something big to come along...

Perhaps when -core phase passes

Like jazz or world themes (Nile)...Hard to say really.

I don't know, good metal bands are dying out, and these shitty core bands are cropping up.

But ask yourself... what CAN come along? I mean, Metal has literally touched every genre on earth. It even made genres that haven't existed before.

On topic, the future is looking bleak, we're just going to be getting shittier more punk-metal deathcore-grind-porno shit that's busting the scene in part. The last huge form of metal I think was the creation of folk/viking metal that resurrected around Ensiferum's growth. Other than that, I don't know... very tricky business...

Well thats the thing, I dont really think that a band needs to be entirely original to start a new wave, just really good, good enough to make lots of people like it (say metallica or iron maiden)

That's the thing the masses do not want to take the time to discover music they would rather have instant gratification of music to get them through their days. I attempted to show my mom torrent sites, as well as a few artists to get started on, but she would rather just use iTunes and download the top 10.

Sorry this has nothing to do with Metal, but I just had to state this.
