Anxiety and Drugs
So ,
I smoke large amounts of weed, ive done many psychs and such. But lately ive noticed sever symptoms of anxiety, depression, feeling of pointlessness. These feelings actually seem to manifest themselves more so physically then mentally. And its effected the one thing i love most, tripping and meditation.
Q: Could a bad trip cause anxiety problems and would quitting everything at once for a while help.

Re: Anxiety and Drugs
a bad trip could possibly cause anxiety problems, but i would think of it as a temporary problem that will go away in a week. maybe it's all that weed you're smoking? i used to smoke a lot of weed, everyday, and i haven't touched the stuff in about 16 months. it gave me terrible anxiety, and just fucked with me. try cutting down your smoking or simply just take a break, see how that works out.

Best response possible IMO...except maybe add to the fact that anxiety caused by a bad trip is your mind subconsciously trying to tell you to confront something from your past or about yourself currently that has been troubling you.

Re: Anxiety and Drugs
Smoking alot of pot can often lead to anxiety and depression...it sucks but it's true. You can however smoke pot and maintain a healthy lifestyle (exercise, good diet, good relationship) and avoid these problems. Most of the stresses that come from smoking pot get there because the potheads usually tend to do the same basic things every day (which becomes monotonous) and out of a lack of variety you become depressed.

Well benzos are very effective at treating anxiety, but i wouldn't consider them unless your problem continues and shows no sign of going away.

Maybe. Maybe your brain is just changing, i don't smoke pot any more, get some terrible anxiety marijuana induced schizophrenia/ psychosis. A feel of nothing ness, loss of interest in just about everything and anything.
You can keep doing "said substances" if you want, shits only gonna get worse though..
